    Very old thread but in case anyone else has this issue, I would suggest that you check to see if you have your antenna connected to the Tx/Rx connector and not the Rx connector, assuming you are using a duplexer.

    Do not use prolific cables. Use FTDI cables. Buy Two Radios sells what is called a XLT Painless Programming Cable. This cable is $17.99, it is ab FTDI and will work.

    GMRS Nationwide This Zello channel has many repeaters linked to it from all over the country. Good bunch of folks and fun!

    Silly question but have you checked if these repeaters are listed as Stale or Offline? Also, I agree with Randy about scanning for tones.

    I need a ROIP 3 or something similar. Either used or new. Apparently Radio Tone doesn't sell the ROIP 3 anymore. If anyone has one or knows someone who does please let me know.

    I know that this is an old thread but I have to ask why so many are posting that the Nagoya 701c is GMRS tuned when in fact the specs say that it is tuned to 455 MHZ (not 465 MHZ) on UHF?

    If you can afford it, put up your own repeater and then maybe more people such as your friends would show an interest. This may sound expensive but you don't have to put up the world's most powerful repeater or even a commercially built one. There a many on eBay.
