Yup,, i did and had a save before the radio arrived. I did load a factory file i got from one of the videos on the readio.. I think it was the guy that showed how to set up encryption.

If you are familiar with the DMR CPS, that should be enough to evaluate if the radio will be a match for you.. It's all in the programing and so far thats a good experience. I did read up on OpenGD77 and Baofengs DMR CPS surpasses options to Open GD77. IMO, $75 bucks is defiantly worth the investment for a DMR radio.. Even though i won one in Baofengs contest, i did also purchase one and have no regrets. Does the DM 32 compare well to my Hytera DMR radios?? Pretty close, enough to impress me..Front end programing on the radio itself is much easier than Hytera, but i prefer to use CPM anyway. I haven't tested out the encryption yet, planning to do this when i get back from camping. I did program and test some ditial channels in MURS and found programing pretty straight forward.. Setting up call groups, private contacts is also straight forward... Heck,, you should try to enter Baofengs monthly contest and try to win one..

Are you familiar with either Hytera or Harris CPS? I'm refereeing to the layout and flow of Baofeng CPS being very very similar. The menu tree, function settings, Zones, Talk Groups, Digital Contact etc. is very similar to Hytera or Harris, even the radio settings. It's a very simple layout, I would suggest downloading the free Baofeng DMR CPS and give it a whirl in programming. If you need help, i'm happy to assist.

don't know, but a good way to check into that would be via the groups on this site.. I believe the last i check it did see some Atlanta groups over there.. Ha ha. I almost ardently typed Antifa Groups.. Just kidding

i just got a DM UV 32.. When i get back from camping I'm gonna check it on the Tiny Spectrum. My experience with some of the Baofeng's I've test is hilarious with with their harmonics. I've seen second and thirds just about equal to main carrier. My Hytera's are pretty clean. The DM 32 sounds good, I'm getting good reports with it.. I like the radio

I'm pretty impressed with this DM32UV.. The CPM is not too bad. It certainly looks like Baofeng borrowed some programming peramaters from Hytera and Harris CPM. If you've ever used either you will slip right into the Baofeng DMR CPM. For the most part i've been playing with analog on thjis radio and couple digital channels on MURS Both work great.. The Scanner on this radio is probably the best i've seen in a Baofeng. Especially choosing off the Zones.. Programming via the front panel is also the easiest i've ever experienced with a Baofeng.. I did purchase one from RadioDitty before i won this one. Baofeng shipped my prize radio and i received it in two dayx.. I'm still waiting for the one i purchased form RadioDiddy two weeks ago.. Once i get the other radio, i'll put a good test on digital and encryption. I can tell you though, you analog guys will love this radio just for the mere fact of programing and all the options.. The Zones and Scanning features will get you hooked on this radio. And the screen is pretty decent. So far so good.

I can guarantee most of these HAM radios tuned to GMRS, with proper power levels and bandwidths programed, are 100% cleaner than most of these 'cheap' chinese radios out there .

I've got a Hytera repeater. My Ham friend that turned me onto the remote switch was over the other day messing with my CPM. He figured out how to set up the repeater to monitor via the web anywhere and also shut it down through Hytera RDAC software he found on the web. The remote shut down via the Phone App is still a little easier but the RDAC offer complete remote monitoring. Cool stuff.

One fall morning last year i was picking up repeater station from LA here in the Mojave Desert 150 miles north. The signal was coming like they were a block away.. Lasted about a minute and went away.. Every onnce in awhile i hear stations coming in that are not local. Usually when it's cooler out

do you know how many scanner folks that would love to crack encryption......

they list 6-8 radios that are compatible. I get that those radios are lacking and need help... My DMR experience has always been with Hytera radios and never had any of the problems programing.. I always preferred the CMS route with slight variations on the front panel. I will say that Baofeng's new CMS for their new digital radios is pretty impressive. I dont have the DM32 in my hands yet but the onliine videos reflect a positive experience both with CMS and front end programing.. I have had issues running Open source stuff in the past and more than once had rebuild after planted virus attacks.. GetHub and a couple other down load sites are getting good weedinig out these issues.. Im not knocking OpenGD77, just trying ot understand it and finally getting it..

you should be able to master the Tech in a very short time... I would start looking into get your test scheduled.. Some areas are booking aout as far as 45 days.. You got this.. Get her done

for very limited radios.. I was hoping he is aware of that.. If he was going to get into DMR it sounds like he will need to buy a DMR radio. My suggestion would be to check OPEN GL website..

to the OP.. Curious why you think you need OpenGD for DMR?

you would have learned that if you paid attention of the specifications posted on Baofeng's web site or even Radioditty.
