sweeperdave Posted November 4, 2025 Posted November 4, 2025 San Jose is made up of 10 districts, each with its own CERT group. Each group has at least one GMRS mobile base station in a box. It's a standard build that consists simply of a 20-watt radio, 10 AH battery, in a plastic .30 cal. ammo box with a bulkhead connector to connect to an antenna. Of course, not to be "stuck" with a "general issue" box, I built my own box. It's a 25-watt Radioddity alongside a 10AH battery with a similar bulkhead connector. There's also a battery charger in there. I can also run USB-A, cigarette lighter port. There's a volt meter to monitor power. IMG_0517.HEIC Quote
