Only thing it needs now to make it road worthy is to install a shiny new Radioddity DB-20. Congrats and get her on the dirt. Enjoy!!!

I had the Midland MXT575 in my first Jeep..  Going to stick with that (is ordered).  I live in the Mojave Upper Desert so got plenty of dirt to enjoy..  And Repeaters.

It would have been a real Christmas gift if it included an installed GMRS radio and antenna.  What was she thinking  LOL

She hates radios but she never knows when i buy them…. My MXT arrived today but i found out i screwed up on the order.  I have a MXT275 thought i ordered the 575..  It was my fault, wasnt paying attention.   But know im thinking about sticking with this 25 watt,,   Lot less money.

I guarantee that you, nor the people you are talking with, will ever notice any difference between 25 and 50 watts.

Im gonna stick with it..  Lot less money and good rating here on the 275.  👍

Damn,, my attention span is going to hell..  Thought i was ordering the 575 50Watt, but ended up with the 275, then i thought i read 25 Watt on this one, now that i got my $hit together the 275 is a 15W.. 🤣….  F’ it,   im gonna keep it.

A story about the Easter Bigfoot Leprechaun leaving jerky-filled golden eggs all around the mansion seems more plausible than a Jeep-gifting wife who actually pays the bill...but I am admittedly biased.  If you found the one and only Easter Bigfoot Leprechaun wife, good on you!!!

(Still, I recommend doing an immediate background check through the FBI and Interpol to make sure you aren't dealing with an international criminal mastermind.)

Obviously your not new to GMRS. The Midlands are great radios. My only issue with the MXT275 is having to go into the menu to the repeater channels. I now have the DB-20G in both of my personal vehicles.

the background check spans back some 25 years.   I knew what I was getting into so defiantly no complaints here..  But really in all honesty, I think Wify felt guilty when she talked me into selling my 14 JK so we could get her a new car a few years ago.  I never stoped talking about my JK so she got me this and told me to STFU. 🤣

Im surprised how well the 275 is working out.  I've been talking to my friend in Lancaster,  (about 65 miles) just as good as my 40W Hytera Mobile.  Of course hitting the best repeater in Calif.  (El Paso).   Also talked to a few folks camping at Alabama Hills near Lone Pine.  I've always liked the Midlands.

In flatter country power won't matter that much.  Or talking with a repeater up thousands of feet will do that too.  In my area 25 watts might not get you a mile away.  Or then again 15 miles with full signal if you are both on higher ground.  I live in the valley near a river and it's hilly area to boot.

Yup,,  I have the same problems with my 40 Hytera in my Truck when I get around hills and trees but not as bad.. Some of my friends have the 275 in their RV Rigs and a few us have the Hyteras.  The Hyteras defiantly do better in those conditions but overall the Midlands work damn good

I own both the 575 and two 275, also have had the gxt1000 for a couple of years. I just got the gxt3000 and got on a repeater 25 miles away. I paired the mobiles with 6db gain antennae's which helps a lot. The 575 has to have a dedicated wire to the battery but the 275 can work with cig plug but I got the same connections that the 575 has and spliced to the power cord of the 275. I only buy Midland, don't speak no Chinese. One thing I have found out is that the 275 is more sensitive to interference. There is a digital signal at 462.537 that interferes with my reception at 462.550. I hit a repeater 50+ miles away and they can hear me great but I can't hear them on the 275 but can hear them on my handhelds? We are trying to find the source. It doesn't bother the 575 at all.
