Guest David
Hello all. Just getting into the land of GMRS and I realized that the Midland radio that I purchased is not repeater capable. With this in mind what would you recommend for a handheld radio that is repeater capable?
marcspaz
Hi David! Thanks for stopping by. I strongly recommend joining the forum and looking through the many threads that include equipment reviews. There are many options and varying opinions. Some of the topics may fall inline with what your intended use, and give you a chance to ask some more specific questions. What, specifically are you trying to accomplish? Such as, what will the radio be used for, type of terrain, what kind of distances are you looking at with regard to the repeaters you want to reach, etc.? coryb27
Guest Paul
A BTech GMRS 1 is repeated capable handset
taco6513
The btech gmrs-v1 and Motorola makes one with repeater offsets. And of course you can use a part 90 commercial radio.
KAB8107
Besides being repeater capable - make sure the radio is also defaulted or able to do wideband. Some Part 95 brands do not do wideband
PRadio
The Tera TR-505 is repeater capable as well, and can be programed narrowband or wideband. ratkin

PRadio
Will the Tera do mixed tones Like TX PL, RX DPL. Yes, you can pretty much do whatever you want with their programming software. Here is an example. I don't really have it programed this way, but look at channel 16. ratkin and Logan5
