Kenwood tk8180 with ignition sense

I have a Kenwood tk8180HK with ignition sense and i was wanting to know if anybody knows how to bybass this or trick it to think ignition is on so i can bench test and program the radio before i install it in my truck?

Just connect the main power and the power sense wires to the positive connection of the power supply.

Marc posted as I was posting take his advice on how to energize the ignition sense function!

 

As someone else told me get the Kenwood software on Ebay much easier than using voltage to cause it to work!

Marc and Mike have answered your question however I'll expand on it. If you wish to disable Ignition sense, Open up the 89D software and read from the radio (you need to have the radio on for this) Click "Edit>Optional Features" A new window should open. At the bottom right there is a field labeled "Ignition sense" By unchecking the box you disable the ignition sense cable (Works by switch only.)

thanks everyone for the help! I do have the Kenwood software and i will reprogram for no ignition sense. Thank you all for the quick response. Still new at this and trying to navigate my way through and learn as i go.
