My main concern is maintaining contact with family in case of emergency as well as normal day-to-day commo. I'd like to be able to work on repeaters. I want to just get my feet wet and see in I want to get in up to my neck later. What recommendations for radios do you have for me? That will give you a background that will help you choose. One thing to keep in mind is that no matter what radio you get now you’ll get another.
