Temporary mounting in vehicles

Im curious if others have ideas on how to make a portable radio stand/holder for a small mobile that I can easily take the radio between a half ton pickup and a small SUV.  Anything out there that fits this need already?

I think it was @MichaelLAX who has a post on using a 3 inch test plug with the radio bolted to it.  He just sets it in his cup holder.

There is a thread on here somewhere that uses an inexpensive hardware device to create a cup-mount holder.

Do both of your vehicles have cup holders?

I learned about a website called lidoradio.com that might be helpful to some wanting additional mounting options.  I'll take a look at the cupholder holder as well.

Well, if you want to spend that kind of money, this is my original cupholder mount for Anytone from Amazon, that got stolen with my Anytone AT-779UV (Anytone 778 shown in pic), when I left it in the garage:

I have the one above and my MXT500 is a bit much for it in a New Tundra cup holder.  In my truck it needs 4 screw out tighteners instead of three, but it is holding up.

I have used A big square of velcro.

I fabricated this setup for my 21 Silverado Diesel Dually.  I hang it on the lip of the passenger side of the center console, close the lid, and angle the radio towards me.  I hang a towel over the lip so the bracket won't scratch the console.
