vefrancis Posted April 12, 2023 Report Posted April 12, 2023 New to GMRS, so be kind. Does GMRS have Weather channel frequencies? If so, What are they? Thanks in advance Quote

They're in the VHF spectrum. 162.400, 162.425, 162.450, 162.475, 162.500, 162.525, 162.550. Depending on your radio, you *might* be able to access them. The famous Baofeng UV5R, for example, can receive both UHF and VHF frequencies and can be programmed with those frequencies. Quote
back4more70 Posted April 12, 2023 Report Posted April 12, 2023 Welcome. GMRS does not have weather frequencies, but your radio can most likely receive the NOAA frequencies if you set them up. Some radios also have them already programmed in. Quote
WRWE456 Posted April 13, 2023 Report Posted April 13, 2023 So which radio are you using? I have the Wouxun KG-935G Plus and it receives vhf/uhf and has the weather frequency's built in. I also love being able to use it to scan the local Sheriff, Fire and EMS. So as mentioned not a GMRS feature but a few radios do have the capability. Quote

Thanks in advance The official NOAA weather channel frequencies are on VHF. However some have discovered that the studio to transmitter site audio link at times is done on selected UHF frequencies. You can look at the attached file and see what kind of luck you have with it. NOAA UHF Weather Link Frequencies.pdf WRUU653 and fe2o3 1 1 Quote
vefrancis Posted April 13, 2023 Author Report Posted April 13, 2023 Thanks everyone. I have a Wouxon 905 and have entered the channel frequency 162.400. Thanks again Quote

Lscott Posted April 14, 2023 Report Posted April 14, 2023 This is an old thread but a few more frequencies are mentioned in it on UHF for specific locations. https://forums.radioreference.com/threads/noaa-uhf-repeaters.253483/ Also I have a list of VHF frequencies used for weather broadcasts. See attached file. Two are listed for Canada. There is one for the US in the 163 MHz range you don't find commonly listed. I have no idea if that last one is really used.
