BTech GMRS20V2 mic cable extender

Has anyone tried using a mic cable extension with this radio?

I have a co-worker who would like the radio tucked away with only an extension port showing.

I haven't personally... but a local friend of mine has one with a 25' extension kit.  It extends the 8 pin cable and added an external speaker mic extension, too.  That helps with extending the standard mic cable, use of Kenwood style accessories and ease of programing.

Kenwood 8 pin cable extender? Any makes to stay away from?

I don't have any first hand experience with these, so I couldn't say what brand is better or worse.  However, if I was buying one myself, I would go direct to BTech so I know its going to work.

I found that, he only needs a few feet. If possible, he’d like to do a bulkhead mount between the mic extender and the hand mic so everything will be hidden away. 
 

I haven’t found any that do not require soldering.
