Signal Bar Response?

Hey guys. Question. I'm hitting a repeater in the region, a little distant.....but I'm hearing the "Kerchunk". Anyways...I've talked to folks, no problem but sometimes after calling out. I see the RX signal bounce up...like someone's trying to response but no sound. Is that a problem on their end or mine? Thx

Usually someone else talking on the channel using another code your radio isn't programed on.

It might not even be a problem.  It may be that the repeater is identifying itself, possibly with Morse code even, and that it’s programmed to do so without CTCSS.  If you remove the CTCSS (or DCS) Code on your end you might be able to hear what it is.

Took the RX PL tone out. That's exactly what it was. Appreciate it.
