Baofeng UV5R programing

Question

Posted

Hello,

I am trying bto program a Baofeng UV5R radio using chirp software but set something wrong in the settings, when I power the radio up I cannot switch between frequency and channel mode and do not have anything when I hit the menu button to be able to go through the different  menus on t5he radio itself. Does anyonyone know what the default settings are for the radio, or if its possible to reset to default settings with chirp so I can strart from scratch? Any help would be hugley appreciated.

Thanks,

That will only work if the two radios have the same firmware version. I have two UV5Rv2+ radios with different firmware versions. I have to maintain two separate databases for them. Fortunately Chirp handles copy/paste smoothly!

RTSYSTEMSINC.COM   i have 7 radios and it works for all of them. flawlessly  it took me no time to ditch chirp!! Chirp is a nice idea but has to much garbage and crap to deal with, all this stupid pasting and copying...i mean get real.

i have one file and send it to 7 different handhelds with different firmware versions with no issue AT ALL!  thats how software is supposed to be.

Just bought one of these cause it was cheap from another ham that went all digital...30 bucks for the radio, hand mike, extra aa battery pack, extra n77 antenna and a mobile antenna. I programmed it in chirp to add in some extra freq he didn't have programmed. Initial results from playing..... Wish the fm radio was better. Lol. Need to add the travel freq in it More results later. But not complaining ESP for 30 bucks
