How to reset a Beufeng radio?

Question

Posted

Hey everyone.. I have watched videos where people reset for lack of a better word a GRMS radio so that you can program to tx on any channel even out of the GRMS channels.  Not that I would ever ever do such a thing, but knowing things is good stuff.. 🤘😜

Anyone know what combo of jey presses and radio trickery is needed to do such a thing?

Thanks in advance.

That's what you said in the video, but I think I will leave for the day. It is 10:20 PM in Illinois.

To be fair, pretty much any radio does that.

Well, anecdotally speaking, my history of radios do not:

Baofeng UV-5R

Baofeng UV-5x3

Radiodditu RD-5R

Baofeng DM-5R

TYT-88UV

Pofung GM-30

Radioddity DB20-G

Radioddity DB-25D

So imagine my excitement when for $24 I acquired a Baofeng UV-13Pro and retired all my other non-DMR HTs!!!

Your UV-5R does do it, but to be honest, it is a pain in the Bit** to do...

Most mobile radios do not, but i am pretty sure that 100% of all the handheld GMRS and H.A.M.s radios that I have owned/tested/reviewed (over 100) do.
