desertbird Posted July 26 Report Posted July 26 If I see this: Does the 100 go into my radio's RX tone? Quote
Guest Posted July 26 Report Posted July 26 Your radio needs to transmit that tone to the repeater to open the repeaters sqwelch. Quote
WRWE456 Posted July 26 Report Posted July 26 When a repeater asks for an input tone that is the tone your radio must transmit TX into the repeater. If the repeater asks for an output tone that is the tone that your radio listens for to hear the repeater RX. amaff and TrikeRadio 2 Quote

Not quite... if the repeater has an output tone, that tone can be used to squelch other traffic coming from not-that-repeater on that channel for your radio. But if it lists an output tone and you don't put it in your radio, you'll still hear the repeater. You'll also hear other traffic (simplex traffic, repeaters that share that frequency) that isn't related to the repeater you're trying to talk through. nokones Posted July 27 Report Posted July 27 Better standby on Shaw Butte. I have a feeling that tone is no longer in use. Even the link tone is no longer working. We may be in a long wait and may be in the same situation as Towers 575 repeater. Quote
