  • I just tried to call FCC at their toll free number listed on their web site, and the call would not go through.  No ringing sound, no recording, no operator type response, nothing.  And as far as I know, they don't offer an email option.

Can you share the link to the page?  I'll test it.

There are a bunch of different numbers depending on what the call is in reference to.  There may be another number you can use.

Contact Us by Phone

Business hours for all non-emergency calls: 8:00am - 5:00pm, ET

Toll-Free Voice:
1-888-CALL FCC (225-5322)

My call got answered.  It rang, was answered and the automated system asked me to pick a language.  From there, I got menu options.

Hours are not the issue.   Could be something local I guess (like the old all circuits are busy).  Or they just don't want to hear from me. 🤪

I tried again, an hour later, this time using the 1 (typically unnecessary), same result.

It's been quite a while, since I had to call the FCC about something. Now as I think about it, I've forgotten the exact reason for that call. However, I do remember it seem like menu after menu to speak with an actual human. It wasn't so much time consuming, although I can imagine certain during the week, you might as put it speaker phone and do something while you wait.

Are you certain you’re dialing all the digits? Dialing fewer would result in a dead line like you described.
