WSDR636 Posted August 15 Report Posted August 15 I have 8 repeaters in my area. I have requested the use of them all. Three of them responded to my request. Why have a REQUEST and you don't answer the request. Thank you to the ones who did! Quote
LeeBo Posted August 15 Report Posted August 15 Speaking from experience, life takes over. I'm not saying that's the issue, but the one in my area I asked access for took over a week to reply. Not a big deal. Quote
KevinJ Posted August 15 Report Posted August 15 same here, requested 4 nearest me when I joined, but only 1 has responded at all, basically just use it if it's listed as open and the tones are there to access it, just announce yourself and thank them for the use, it usually goes well. nokones Posted August 15 Report Posted August 15 Patience people. Some respond right away, some will after they attend to work and/or family matters first, and some won't respond at all especially if they have posted the tone information. Just use it until they say otherwise. JBRPong and SteveShannon 1 1 Quote
Socalgmrs Posted August 15 Report Posted August 15 Kinda like getting upset because someone is not doing you the favor they offered fast enough. It may be never but at least you tried. GMRS is more than repeaters anyway. They are just the icing on the cake. Again GMRS is more a bring your own friends kinda thing while doing an activity. Hiking, farming ranching boating off roading skiing etc……. SteveShannon 1 Quote
ULTRA2 Posted August 15 Report Posted August 15 Oh yes, I learned from experience never argue or say anything negative about the repeater you never know that the repeater owner you're asking permission to you to use his repeater might be monitoring the forum. Quote

I agree, but that sure was a hard sentence to follow. Quote
