RIPPER238
Haven't seen much discussion about the Wouxun KG-Q10G. Im pondering my next purchase and this model came up. Doesn't seem to have as much capability as my TID H3 but the quality seems better. Are there any radios that can pick up all bands AM/FM/UHF/VHF/GMRS Air band..... and at least transmit on GMRS? It will work exactly the same as your h3 or any other radio. But it will do it at a price tag nearly 10xs what your h3 costs for no other benefit then water proof. So if that’s worth it to you then great RIPPER238 and WSEZ 1
WRYZ926
I have the KG-Q10H amateur quad band version. It is an excellent radio with a much better receiver than any Baofeng or other cheap radio. It even puts my Icom IC-T10 to shame. 15 hours ago, RIPPER238 said: Are there any radios that can pick up all bands AM/FM/UHF/VHF/GMRS Air band..... and at least transmit on GMRS? Yes the KG-Q10G will receive all of the frequencies /bands. The following is from Buy Two Way Radio's website. https://www.buytwowayradios.com/wouxun-kg-q10g.html?___SID=U 76-108 MHz (FM) RX Only 108-136 MHz (Airband, AM) RX Only 136-174 MHz (FM) RX Only 222-225 MHz (FM) RX Only 320-480 MHz (FM) RX Only 714-999 MHz (FM) RX Only Only you can decide if the extra cost is worth it to you. For me it was worth it since I got mine on sale and was the same price as the Icom IC-T10 and a much better radio. Granted you are asking about the KG-Q10G GMRS version which can not be unlocked for transmitting on other bands. JBRPong
I have the KG-Q10H version and unlocked for GMRS and I like it a lot. I really like the customizable display colors due to my color blindness. I also have a KG-UV9G and I like the Q10 better due to the display. I started with the cheap Baofengs and I have several different models to learn and discover what I like and don't like before I spent more on the Wouxuns. Now I keep the cheap Baofengs in each car for back up. WRYZ926, WSEZ and RIPPER238 2

I would also assume for more $$ the quality and accuracy will be better. 18 hours ago, WRYZ926 said: I have the KG-Q10H amateur quad band version. It looked like the next logical step with similar features to the H3. A shame its not fully unlocked but i understand the reason even though i know better not to transmit where i shouldn't since i don't have my Ham license yet. Do they even make radios that can both transmit and receive on all bands besides these cheep TID radios? 4 hours ago, JBRPong said: I have the KG-Q10H version and unlocked for GMRS and I like it a lot. The amateur version which is the KG-Q10H works on 2m, 1.25m, 70cm, and 6m right out of the box. The KG-Q10H can be unlocked so that it also works on MURS and GMRS. I was torn on this radio due to the price and some of the other issues they were having with it and almost went with the UV-5G Plus. In the end I decided to spend the extra Monies, crossed my fingers and eded up purchasing the KG-Q10g (it's notarubicons fault). I have owned and currently own some Boefengs and the Q-10 just seems to perform better, I have no problem hitting my loaded repeaters, sound quality is excellent and the feedback i get from others is that is comes through loud and clear on the transmission end. Build quality seems to be fairly stout overall, and the not removable antennae was actually not even glued on, so there is that as a plus. So far no regrets on this purchase. To add, it does not play well with chirp. If not for some of the members on here helping with that i would still be frustrated. Once i got it to shake hands with chirp it programmed fine. A Sale would be awesome. I also need to PM someone on some technical aspects of programing this unit before i buy. Also wondering the best power hook up to my truck since my Midland is just plugged in to my cig lighter for power. I'm guessing this will need to be direct wiring job. A 50 watt radio draws too much current for a cigarette lighter circuit. Run the positive power lead for the radio back to the battery positive lead. The negative lead can go to one of the grounding points in your vehicle or can be taken back to the battery. RIPPER238 and Elmo777
