Hello everyone appears I have lost all the data programmed on UV82 radios via CHIRP. Anyone have a suggestions or supply a cheat sheet to re-enter and program radios.

Read it from the radio.

Steve appreciate, however the repeaters and or frequencies are deleted. Sensing are the generic ones coming with radio. On CHIRP only the first frequency is displayed. Will contact the manufacturer directly, thanks again.

CHIRP will normally input the correct frequencies when you choose the offset. For GMRS that is a positive offset of 5.000 MHz

Did the radio loose its programming? And did you save the CHIRP file after making changes and before uploading to the radio?  If so, then you should be able to re-download the file to your radio.

In Chirp you have the ability to load all of the default GMRS channels.  Would that help? You should also have the ability to import nearby GMRS repeater channels from Repeaterbook into Chirp.

Wow that sucks.   This is why you gotta save the original file and the new file and back everything up.  I go so far as to drop all my files not a usb drive.

do you not have other radios you can download from?    It’s odd that the radio and the chirp file are both messed up

Luckily I sense I can clone one radio to the other, viewing frequencies and repeaters were maintained for 1-radio. In your experience is there any particular radio GMRS and or HAM you favor. Thanks in advance!

Ok guys, appreciate all the insight provided. Gain all the programing on CHIRP and a happy camper, somehow I delete yet had a copy on another computer. My next questions is attempting to add repeaters and if not provided a plus or minus how do you figure out what to place. Also notice some repeaters have a DN assigned number while others may have a offset, so confusing.

All repeaters are +5 - period. The gods at the FCC have spoken and we must obey. Unless a digital code is followed by the I (eye) it is normal.

After numerous YouTube videos, finally came across one which explained easily repeater setups. Failed to understand step of deleting channel, followed by memory channel 3X to save, receive and transmit. Now I'm on repeater book manually inserting repeaters!!!!

Can’t you use Chirp?  Chirp will import from RepeaterBook.
