tcp2525 Posted December 25, 2024 Report Posted December 25, 2024 Come on folks, Oppenheimer didn't have this much difficulty building the atomic bomb. I wonder how he would have fared against a Chinese radio? Raybestos 1 Quote

Once @OldJunk2 has finished troubleshooting it’s certainly possible that it’s a bad unit, but giving up now would be premature. Quote

I know on my KGXS20G when the output went dead the radio still looked like it was transmitting. Only way I could tell was to put my watt meter on the output to find out it was zilch. OldJunk2 Posted December 27, 2024 Author Report Posted December 27, 2024 Update: I'm a dummy. I had the TX tones entered into the RX of the programming. The radio is performing as good as a 20w should. I'm getting 15.5w on high with a SWR of 1.4 to 1 as tested with my NanoVNA SteveShannon 1 Quote

Generally, these issues are self correcting as the user gets more familiar with their radio. Now you will really enjoy the DB20 as its an amazingly good sub-$100 radio. WRYS709 Posted December 28, 2024 Report Posted December 28, 2024 Glad to hear that the suggested tips worked for you, so that you do not have to return your DB20-G. I 2nd @tcp2525's comment that it is a terrific radio. I have purchased two DB20-Gs and my original Anytone AT-779UV. OldJunk2 1 Quote
