Radtel 730 and kplug Radtel mic/speaker issue

Question

Posted

My son and I have the above radio.  Today, my son brought over his radios with the mic/speakers, and we had some problems.  Not using his plug in mics, all three radios performed perfectly.  Then he plug in is mic, was able to transmit to the other two units, but the other two units were unable to transmit.  This is when I noticed the tx light on top of the radio is constantly on when the mic is plugged in (this happened on all three radios).  I also noted the squelch never closed after tx.

Does anyone know what the issue is, or is there a setting I'm missing in setting up these radios.

Thanks,

Mike P WSFS367

Some radios get stupid if you plug in the speaker mics when the radios are turned on. Unplug the speaker mics and make sure the radios are turned off, plug in the speaker mics and like Randy said, make sure the plug is all the way in. Some of the two prong plugs will look like they are plugged in all the way and they are not, just make sure they are, and turn the radios back on hopefully they work.

Thanks for the quick replies.  The more I look at the mic he bought, the more I think it is not the one Radtel sells that is compatable with the 730.  It was definitely pushed in all the way, and I did try connecting with the radio both off and on.

Thanks again,

Mike
