  2. It appears that your battery is in the charger while you’re measuring the voltage at the terminals that connect to the radio. I could see a firmware error (maybe even intentional but not what I would expect) in the charger increasing the charging voltage to the wrong voltage. If so, that should be a fairly obvious error that TidRadio should remedy. If that is what’s happening it could definitely let the magic smoke out of radio circuits. That would match your picture. My Alinco radio has a warning about powering on the radio while the radio and battery is on the charger. I’ll plug it in and see what voltage appears on the battery terminals while charging outside of the battery.
  3. OK, I'm thinking again....sorry LOL So you have a repeater and an HT that is near the receive limit of the repeater. Why doesn't it oscillate? You transmit with the HT, the repeater receives the signal activates the transmitter, desenses the receiver and the transmitter stops and then the HT signal is received again and it oscillates back and forth on this. Is there a delay or something designed in a repeater to prevent this? I also have observed that there is a point where you can activate the repeater and keep it up but you can't push your audio through it, not ever scratchy audio, it's basically blank. But get a bit closer and you get scratchy audio. I assume that's when you are able to overcome the desense of the system?
  4. I've heard the issue is that it's dumping the battery voltage plus the charging voltage once it hits 100% instead of shutting off the charger.
  5. I’ve never seen a battery that could be charged to twice its design voltage, but I admit I’m not an expert on all battery types.
  6. Today
  7. Here's another vid showing a tune of a duplexer on a non vna.
  8. I might as well throw this in here: remember that "don't leave your battery plugged into the radio when you charge it because it'll fry your radio" video that made the rounds a while back? Charged one of my batteries from 50% to 100% and stuck a multimeter on it when the light turned green. 12v - not quite the 15v other people got but still much higher than the 7.2v the batteries are supposed to be outputting.
  9. @WSIA835 They did not charge money when they sent me warranty replacements. First warranty radio came from a warehouse up in NY or NJ, second radio came from Amazon (ha).
  10. I won't wish that on anyone. Barf Wang radios need to stay in Pandaland.
  11. I realize that the GMRS frequencies aren't worldwide. All I'm saying is giving these tools to whatever they call their rescue and recovery personnel to use is a bonus. Of course they would have to comply with government regulations. You almost are making it sound like if either one of us went to Iran we wouldn't find any Baofeng radios.
  12. Yesterday
  13. It stands for "Oh, Shit! Over!"
  14. Hmmm... never heard of OSO....
  15. GMRS freqs are not universal. GMRS freqs in one country could be used for another radio service in another country. For an example, allocated public safety freqs in the US are the same freqs used for business radio services in England. No country in there right mind will send anything that could benefit the political division or military operation of an adversary. Iran may be in the world of hurt for radio communication or they may think any civilian operation could be considered an opposition force, may take away those gifted radios. Humanitarian items of medical and food would be a more appropriate. Electronic devices would never be approved by this country, nor they should be approved. Anyways, regardless of the freqs that could be used for by citizens in Iran, do you really think they would really work? Not a chance in hell they would work with all the electronic jamming going on.
  16. I just did the clearing thing and no change. Thank You for reporting it, again!
  17. i noticed when i used Safari browser the page wasn't populating fully, when i switched to Chrome or Brave i had no issues.
  18. In Afghanistan, Iraq and Vietnam our military had the plans and will to accomplish complete victory. It is, and always has been the civilian leadership, more concerned with reelection than victory, that has snatched victory from us. Many of our leaders have lacked the Warrior Spirit. The last G W Bush seemed to have forgotten what it took to defeat an enemy that had vowed to destroy America.
  19. I tried a full Nicsure EEPROM wipe, booting up the radio, and then flashing the current TID firmware back on it. No dice. I'll give the Power Tune app a try, but I'm not holding out much hope. No, I haven't bought a TD-H3 Plus. The extra BT features sound nice, but I can live without them too. I've got a tariff bill like a decade ago. If I remember correctly it was from the government, not the product company. I could be wrong though.
  20. I hope you're right. I think we are on a good trajectory now to solve a problem that should have been solved 40+ years ago. I do hope that the hate and killing in that part of the world stops. I never had Hytera, but quality is dependent on what part of China it is made. The best electronics come from the HungLo province.
  21. for right now, and hopefully for a long time in the future, nothing will be allowed to happen in regards to bad calls and terriorist attacks.. I prefer Hytera over Anytone and Baofeng.. And they're all made in C'hina..
  22. It really doesn't matter who caused it, it happened and has happened in the past and will continue to happen in the future. We're all true Americans, just with different opinions. I prefer Anytone over Baofeng.
  23. I found that the folks communicating from 100's of miles away were using Raspberry Pi's and nodes, which allowed them to connect from far distances.
  24. There is a difference between Americans and "well, i leave it at that" but just remember who caused the botched withdrawal of Afghanistan.. I'm all in for being a true America.. God Bless
  25. Sadly, the US doesn't have a habit a living up to their word and sticking with the people they claim to support. The botched withdrawal of Afghanistan is a good example as we abandoned the people that risked their lives to help the US. I'm not sure if the Iranian people would trust us now. We might support them at the moment, but the next administration might not and pull out.
  26. my prayers are with the people of Iran and they are successful in getting their total freedom back they once enjoed.
