YEP, that did the trick! Don't know, "why it worked," but can guess there was something in the internals that prevented the access either to the channel selection of the Tone selection. After recording all my setting in the MXT-400, I did a RESTORE function. The RESTORE function reset the internal components back to factory setting. I input all my previous setup options and it works like a charm!

Hello all, I recently got a Ailunce HA1G radio and have been trying to get it working with a PTT ID required repeater in my area. Everything I have tried so far has not been working. I sent up the repeater channel, added my assigned ID to own ID under signal settings (or call ID if your programming via CPS), set to BOT at 300ms and set the channels signaling setting to one of the dtmf signaling lists I have. Anything I maybe missing? Any help on things I may be missing or tests I can do is much appreciated.

My At-779UV does the red blinking light thing too. I just jiggle the mic cord and it resolves. Haven't had the audio issue described.

Might be a dodgy connection from the mic cable? those RJ-45 connectors aren't the strongest things in the world. If you jiggle the connector at the radio does it happen? I've noticed it do weird things if I disconnect or connect the mic or programming cable while the radio's on.

I'll have to let the repeater owners explain how it works on repeaters. My ham mobile can block incoming signals based on the tone, but that's different from an ID code. I don't think any radio I have can decode IDs even though they can transmit them. [A newer radio I have has an encryption function but it isn't legal to use so I can't even test that.] All my radios are analog.

[The cutesy title is a play on the brand name.] Just had an unnerving occurrence where no sound was coming out of either earphones or the radio speaker (receive LED and signal meter did indicate it was receiving). I tried all the relevant settings I could think of to no avail. After giving it up for broken, I tried turning SUB back on and switched to B -- boom!, sound blaring out. Switched back to A and sound there too. And it worked with earphones too. Doesn't make sense but I'm glad it started working again (no signals to test with right now). The other odd thing I've noticed is the red TX LEDs will come on briefly at random times when I'm not touching the radio. No pattern to it that I can discern so far. And the mic is hanging up where the PTT button is not touching anything.

I mean, "obvious" is a strong word, but yeah, it's certainly logical. I was just making sure. I assume that's not something that analog radios are able to do? You'd need a digital radio, yeah?

While you're waiting for 702's reply, I'll say that if specific IDs are required, then would it not be obvious that revoked IDs would be blocked? But for the official procedure to ban someone, the owner is supposed to send a letter to them (probably after telling them).

So let me ask a follow up question to this. If a radio can identify itself to a repeater and then the repeater can allow it access, can the opposite be true, as well? Can a radio be "banned" from a repeater by not allowing it's ID?

Update: It worked. I entered test mode and changed the unit to Mode 2. It now has the same range as the older units. Thanks for the speedy answers. I just didn't want to open the box and power the unit up if someone had already tried and did not have success. The new frequency range must just be listed that way for US sales... -Adam

Where I live is entirely different. I'm within range of 4 GMRS repeaters and I can go all day and hear nothing. One of them is mine and it's kind of a "stealth" repeater, but the other 3 are public.

Yes, I know I'm thawing out an old topic, but I thought it could use a refreshment. I have 4 repeaters on the air. I do keep a record of each repeater's users. Just not the email addresses. The "Run Reports" software as configured shows columns labeled Repeater Name, User Name and Callsign, Phone number etc. I am wondering if the columns labeled Number of Users, Requested Date, Approved, and Updated Date could be removed and put their email in place of them. Even if you couldn't download a .CSV file, it certainly would be easier than clicking on each approved member to glean the email address. What do you think? Doug Mitchell WROW 434

No, using Mobile Digital Communicator (MDC) signaling for voice on GMRS is not legal. The FCC prohibits all digital voice modes, such as DMR, on GMRS channels. MDC, though a form of digital signaling, is part of a digital voice system that does not conform to GMRS regulations.

I think the Open GD 77 cps is not set up correctly or is not a Valid one to use. Does anyone have one that does work and have everything needed to upgrade my dmr 1701?

STE is a separate function on Baofengs (and also RP-STE). This squawk I'm referring to is under Roger Beep. Anyway, around here, for ham, the advice is always to not use any of the stuff like that (STE, RP-STE, ANI-ID, access tone eg 1750). For GMRS, all I've seen is "don't use any DTMF codes on my repeater" (and of course, turn off the roger beep). My ham mobile can transmit my call sign (in CW?) but I don't use it in normal use.

PLEX wrote back and said the problem is caused when PLEX server does Library Scans on the QNAP which takes up unnecessary resources to communicate with QNAP. They have a recent update that solves the issue along with some other security isssues.. Installed the new PLEX server update it it looks like all problems with my COM Ports are now solved with Windows 11. No issues so far connecting my DMR radios to CPM.

I remember my first commercial handheld, it was the YAESU FTH7008. i purchased the radio since I was a Volunteer on Philadelphia's Operation Town Watch. Our group was one the first Town Watches to switch from Citizen Band Radio to GMRS. The one thing that I should have was obtain permission before purchasing the radio. I also wish that I had obtain my GMRS license, but I wasn't really active as I am now. I do remember our frequency was (462.725 / 467.725), I never really paid attention on the PL tone or Channel as GE used to use.

Nope. Nothing Illegal About It For Private Use. Businesses Use It Per Part 90 & It Is Also Legal For GMRS Under Part 95.
