Not the one I purchased from AliExpress;,unless there was some keypress or software required to unlock it. I purchased it to see how easy it was to install OpenGD77 and after I discovered it was easy, I gave it away to a new Ham who made a donation to our local repeater organization.

The 1701 is unlocked also.

Randy’s video answered MY question about why the $75 DM-32 over the $50 Dm-1701: The DM-32 comes “unlocked” for use on GMRS and MURS in addition to its Ham capabilities.

I dont not have a H.A.M.s radios license and yet I still use my DMR on my legally and partially private allocated frequencies vested to me by the authority of my FCCs Business/LMR license, which is two-steps above a H.A.M.s radios license.

I've just now saw the you need a HAM license to use DMR.

Did you watch this YT before posting it here? With all due respect, it is worthless from the viewpoint of learning anything useful about the DM-32. I wish I could have that 5 minutes of my life back again! You do realuze this is a Ham Radio digital mode not alliwed on GMRS?

Been kicking around the idea of picking up an inexpensive DMR radio to put OpenGD77 on to play with. I'm hitting the YouTubes watching videos to learn what I can before I buy anything. Just wanted to see if anyone else had thought about or was actually using DMR and what they thought about it.

I know there have been some enforcement actions taken by the FCC. I think it all depends on the seriousness and repetitiveness of the interference. I suspect that many of the complaints the FCC receives are from people who are simply jealous that someone else gets away with ignoring rules that they follow. Most of those complaints should be ignored. The behavior described by @WRUE951 exceeds that threshold in my opinion. If necessary a call to a U.S. senator or representative could help.

Windows 10 and 11 will expand .zip files natively. You will need a third party tool to expand .rar files.WinRAR and 7-Zip are good Windows programs for expanding car files.

Based on the FCC's history/record, it wont help. The FCC has made it abundantly and unmistakably clear that they do not care.

I don’t know for certain if it would help, but I would recommend compiling a list of the various complaints that you and others have had including the police report and submitting it to the FCC.

No,, But that would have been a good idea.. We didnt learn about the police call until a few weeks after when the father got on and shared what he did.. Wish i would have thught of that though I'm one of the guys that sent a complaint to the FCC

Thanks, but apparently I didn’t explain my situation well. We are not trying to amplify the receiver audio. We already have a separate PA. I’d like to reduce the number of devices. Having a PA built into a mobile radio, like the old CB radios all seemed to have, would meet my needs well.

That shouldn't be a problem. There are all sorts of ways to do that. Take a GMRS mobile, tap into the audio out port, run the audio through an amp onto a speaker horn. Simple basic manipulation of electrons that an engineer should be able to easily make happen. Let know how that turns out.
