What is going on with the FCC ULS and CORES?

It wasn't like that two years ago when I renewed my GMRS license. Which was the last time I was on it. -
Btech 50 Watt Radio Reception Issues with Tram 1181 Antenna (MNO Mount)
WSAM454 replied to WSBV575's question in Technical Discussion
Have you checked transmit SWR with the antenna outside, in the clear? You are removing the antenna 'whip' but not its entire NMO mount; could there be a problem with the cable or the actual NMO mount? (either the antenna's mount or the car's mount.) Can you try another NMO mount antenna to see if it may be in the feedline or the mount itself?- 4 replies

Btech 50 Watt Radio Reception Issues with Tram 1181 Antenna (MNO Mount)
WSBV575 replied to WSBV575's question in Technical Discussion
So, the symptoms on that video are the same on 147.1350, 462.650. I have tried it in an open field on 160 acres and in a parking garage (places I tend to be) the antenna makes the issue worse. The unit works well without an antenna (but I think that may not be normal). The radio is a GMRS and HAM.- 4 replies

Btech 50 Watt Radio Reception Issues with Tram 1181 Antenna (MNO Mount)
WRWE456 replied to WSBV575's question in Technical Discussion
Hello and welcome! Have you tried it outside of that concrete block walled garage? Is it a GMRS radio or ham Radio? The antenna is a duel band ham antenna but does cover the GMRS range. You are testing with VHF NOAA weather channels, Have you tested on GMRS?- 4 replies

Seems you have answered your own question. Be creative. Also get rid of duds.

Also, is there a good way to track and tag batteries? Color dots or using a labeler? Seems there is always one dud battery that gets back into the mix...

Hey everyone, I'm hoping to get some help with a bit of a head-scratcher. I recently installed a Btech 50 watt radio with a Tram 1181 antenna on an MNO mount. I've double-checked that everything is grounded properly, and while the radio transmits just fine, the reception is absolutely plagued with noise. Here's the weird part: if I completely remove the antenna from the MNO mount (but leave the mount itself attached to the bracket), reception improves dramatically! It's still not perfect, but it's a world of difference compared to having the antenna screwed on normally. In its normal configuration, the reception quality is worse than my handheld radio, and the range is definitely suffering too. I'm at a loss here. Any ideas what could be causing this? I am thinking antenna but I am not sure. VID-20240417-WA0019.mp4

What is going on with the FCC ULS and CORES?
WRYZ926 replied to 73blazer's topic in General Discussion
The FCC website timing out is nothing new. It did that when I applied for my FRN, GMRS license, and amateur license last fall. The FCC site is like radio propagation, sometimes its great and other times its not. -

You see about the same thing at this site too. On this site the faces are blotted out to protect the guilty. https://radiofreeq.wordpress.com/2016/01/19/militia-radio-frequencies/ -
Great radios. However, the speaker in my very lightly used GM-30 just quit working all of a sudden. Turned it on and now there's no sound. I'm trying to disassemble, but can't find anything online with a parts explosion or video of disassembly, etc. Anyone have photos or other that may help? It's out of warranty, btw.

With the EFHW, you can pick to either cover the digital/cw portion of 80, or the phone portion. I chose digital. The 7510 is phone portion of 80, and the 8010 is digital portion of 80. I've used it on phone, SWR is something like 5:1, was only used for quick checkins to an 80 meter net.

I got my GMRS on Feb 29.....It took 2 days......I'm guessing there is a recent avalanche of HAM and GMRS applications that the 1970's vintage government systems cannot handle.....

What is going on with the FCC ULS and CORES?
gortex2 replied to 73blazer's topic in General Discussion
ITs been like this for a week now. I have multiple changes to process. Guessing the squirrels took a nap. -
ULS has been timing out, locking up, and the picks that do make it seem to take 1m or so to come up. Been like this for days. I thought mabey it was just my machine or my browser, nope, I tried from my phone not on wifi, same thing, tried from a work computer, same thing. Tried multiple browsers. I'm just trying to check on my new HAM license that's supposed to show up there any day. I have zero confidence it actually will. CORES was super slow as well but at least worked. It took my monies anyway. Anyone actually get a GMRS recently in there? Most of the time ULS ends in this after a minute or so:

Again, if you don't like the conversation you are listening to ---- this is not the spark gap world.......TURN THE DIAL to another channel (or frequency) Wait until you get those 'ailments' -- Oh, don't wait.....they'll be coming to you weather you like it or not. Should I laugh or complain about you? Know what bothers me? I am also an amateur radio operator, but I really hate GMRS becoming "ham" radio lite......quit using it like it is. Go back to CB

For the time being we only support Stripe as a payment processor for credit and debit cards. PayPal is supported for making club payments and receiving payouts if you're a paid club owner, but that's because it's a separate system. Since all payment details are handled by Stripe directly, we don't store your card information in our system. Stripe is the leading payment processor and powers many credit card payment platforms including Shopify stores, like our online shop. This is the most secure method to handle payments in a PCI-compliant way.
