  1. Took a Vet friend out to the range for some R & R so didnt get an early start. About to get things rolling. Im pretty sure my father probably did a cartwheel in his grave seeing my first solder job in years lol. I started over three times. Its pretty ugly but there is no continuity between the center conductor and ground so Im calling an ugly dog a success for now.. About to put the antenna up and get to testing. And no I wont show a pic of it otherwise I would have to cut it off and start over again

  2. Another update. Had to tack weld a support for the upper L of the bracket to control really bad rocking. I also tack welded the mount to the hood hinge bracket to stop it from the constant tilting back after a whack. EDIT: to add image of the welded support

  3. Rich, Would you be able to (temporarily, until fixed by the FCC) pre-scan the pipe-delimited file(s) looking for the Owner|Operator string? You could use a batch mode WHS or VBA script (or many such other tools) to first scan, then if found, change the string to Owner\|Operator , before inputting into the call-sign database. This is something I have done numerous times in my former job as an applications systems analyst. I can offer help if needed, or possibly write it for you. Thomas

How to set up a GMRS repeater

I highly recommend the Bridgecom repeater. It comes fully tuned and programmed to your specs. Put up a DB-404 antenna on that tower, some half-inch heliax and you will be ready to go on the air.
