  1. Not that meet your insanely specific, incorrectly used definition, no. Otherwise, no, we're definitely not in agreement
  2. Basically no one disputes that. But now we're down an absurd semantic rabbit hole. I don't know of anyone who seriously claims humans evolved independently in the Americas. That's not what anyone means by "Native Americans". But it's the argument you (or someone who has your ear...) are trying to have for...some reason?
  3. "Native Americans never existed" is certainly a take...
  4. HA! I commented on that video. You can get a similar result for <$300. Well, maybe not at current prices. But that's about where I am for a single car, pit-to-car setup, with super-het radios. Those Racing Radios are *usually* business band radio. I like the stuff he builds, but for a guy always talking about how broke he is, he sure seems to like throwing it around lol For the grassroots racer, it'd be cool if someone at that level would show normies how to do it for more reasonable money IMO. That system costs more than all my radio gear combined.
  5. I don't even carry my CPR / BLS certification card around with me, and there's an exponentially greater likelihood I'll need to show that one. I've got a digital copy I can pull down if I ever need it. But until then...
  6. Generally speaking, the "don't be a dick" principle will get you about 98% of the way there. Despite what you might run across on here...
  7. They have had some spotty quality control, unfortunately. I really like mine, I have 4 of them. All tested good. But there are some that seem to just show up broken. A programming error where you couldn't transmit would get you the "YOU CAN'T DO THAT DUMMY" beep when you key up. If it's not doing that, and it's just outputting 0W, then yeah, they're probably NFG.
  8. I thought it was one that's been neutered
  9. Thankfully all laws (and rules) are moral and good... (I actually think that not linking repeaters on GMRS is a good rule. But rules are only as good as the enforcement thereof. If no one's going to enforce it....)
  10. "illegally programmed" is...certainly a hell of a phrase to use.
  11. Google tried.
  12. EDIT: I didn't read onto the next page to see you answered my question haha.
  13. When was that from? Just checked mine now and it's not on it:
  14. By that logic, to someone who's a non English speaker using a GMRS radio, anyone speaking English is talking in code. I guess none of us get to use our radios now...
  15. Can you post a screen-grab of what channel 26 looks like either through the ODMaster app or Chirp, if you're using it? That'd be the simplest way to actually see what the radio is trying to do.
  16. BORTHER THANK FOR USING BIG LETRS SO THEY READ EASY. MY EYES AINT SO GOOD AND I CANT GET TO A EYE DOC SINCE BARB LEFT AND TOOK THE KEYS GOBBLESS
  17. Ok, now I'm confused as to what you're *actually* asking. First it sounded like you were looking for an antenna recommendation that could deal with moving around. Now it sounds like you HAVE an antenna and are looking for alternate mounting solutions? What's the problem you're actually trying to solve here?
  18. Ma'am, this is a Wendy's...
  19. It drives me bonkers that some radios are like this. Wouldn't shock me if this were one of them. Doesn't matter what's in 8-14, it won't transmit.
  20. That's because it's a mobile radio and can't transmit at a low enough power output to be legal on 8-14. That's pretty much standard on mobile GMRS radios.
  21. My cheap radios have like 50 menu options. You could say that about most of them.
