  1. As i see it, (i am legally blind) the linear will allow you to violate the 5 watt limitation for 1 - 7 gmrs/frs combined channels. The FCC is specific about this. For what its worth the linear works well but at only 32 watts.
  2. Ok, in the center console under hinged lid. Out of sight means you keep your radios longer.
  3. Hi Mat, looks very good. Would you tell us about the radio mounting console? Thanks, Keith T.
  4. Corey, hmm,Browning/ tram antennas are NOT junk! Using a Br450 tuned to gmrs freq with a ground plane kit to hit a repeater at 28 miles (garmin miles) with 3 watts (Btech gmrs v1] .
  5. In my opinion, (probably not worth much) you have two seperate communications. The first is between two licensed GMRS stations. The second communication is between amateur stations. Both communications are legal.
  6. Hi Frank, the radios are the later model. (Ch1 is Ch1) this was on Ch 17 (not repeater 17) radios are on high on all possible channels. Radios are overly complicated with scan functions for VHF, UHF. The FM broadcast function is cute but unnecessary. You must enter each GMRS frequency into scanning bank in order to scan. Its saving grace is it is Part 95 accepted.
  7. Hi Steve, I recently purchased 2 Btech, (bao feng) radios GMRS V1 mod #. Using a tram 1170 mag antenna tuned to 1.1 to one. I measured their output using a MFJ874 swr/pwr meter. This meter has proven itself reliable. These radios are sold as 5 watt radios, but the spec sheet says <5 watts. First radio measured 3.0 watts. 2nd radio measured 2.7 watts, while technically not a lie [ < 5 watts] I thought I was buying 5 watt radios.
  8. Ok, repeaters are transmitters. Transmitters must be part 95 accepted. Does any manufacturer sell one that is certified?
  9. I believe that all transmitters require part95 acceptance. Does any mfg sell them?
  10. I received my 1st GMRS lic dated Jan. 27, 2018. The line A, line C restriction was printed on the bottom of the lic. WRAQ318
