  1. Fixed that for you.
  2. As Mr. @Sshannon already said, NO .
  3. I've been declared a shill and I dont even say that!
  4. Are you sure it is channels 1-7 not working? By design and per FCCs rules, the KG-1000G will not transmit on channels 8-14. Does yours transmit on 8-14? Does it transmit on channels 15-22?
  5. How many different times are you going to ask this same question?
  6. Yes, i have ideas all the time.
  7. Indeed it is - i have burned out a couple of them even though i was transmitting well below the rated wattage.
  8. 1) your actual power output depends on what frequency you transmit on, and the luck of the draw - but no, there is no way to fix/change anything to get more out of it. 2) "Best in class" depends on what is important to you and how you define "best" - but generally speaking Baofeng radios are not on that list Dont make the mistake of getting overly hung-up on whether or not a radio is transmitting 5W or 3W - In most cases, usually, most of the time, on average, you will not notice any difference in FARS when comparing 5W to 3W - what you will notice however is that 5W will suck down your battery much faster.
  9. So do I .
  10. These are vestigial settings left-over from being a ham radio. Most GMRS radios are not designed as GMRS radios from the ground-up. Instead, they are repurposed ham-radios, and usually a lot gets lost (or remains) in the translation. Look through the menus of most of these radios and you will find options that make no sense on a GMRS radio, they do nothing, or, both.
  11. i have more experience and none of that makes any sense.
  12. I've tried it both ways.. i cant do it.

    Repeaters

What kind of trouble? Have you tried these (see pikture)?
  14. I think we've all learned a very valuable lesson here today.
  15. On the UV-5G-Plus, channel 23 is Repeater Channel #1 (aka 467/462.5500) and channel 21 is GMRS channel 21 (aka 462.700). Because the OP says he has not made any programming changes to the radio, your made-up scenario is... made up.. and therefore should be ignored.
  16. If you have TDR/dual-monitoring enabled, and line-A is on Channel 23, and line B is on channel 21, then yes, this would be normal.
  17. You can use the same one.
  18. The antenna that comes on the Q10G is a GMRS antenna, so it does not perform optimally on the CB channels.. .To "fix" it, you may want to try an antenna better tuned for CB.
  19. Yes.. Its a bad combination.
  20. The final days of our "Delta" repeater were pretty pathetic.. After we shut it down a couple of the jammers and troublemakers moved over to the other high-level repeaters in the area. These people are absolute losers at life. i'm not just saying that - I know who they are, and they truly are pathetic nothings.
  21. My OTHER theory is that the corkscrew just allows you to have a shorter antenna with the same electrical length, and it has nothing to do with performance, other than having a shorter antenna that is just as performant as a longer one.
  22. I've always assumed that the corkscrew makes the RF electricities spin-around faster and then squirt out of the antenna at a higher rate, making them go more fars.. ..i could be wrong though.
  23. If it was ME, (i have actually had similar shituations) I would (and do) just use a good quality adaptor... "Some People" will warn you that you are going to lose all your power through an adaptor, but I am able to deal with that 0.002% amount of loss. "some people" will also tell you to just do-up the cables and connectors yourself - but, many normal people dont want to hassle it, and, are willing to cope with that 0.002% loss from using an adaptor. ..Be sure to use a good-quality adaptor, not the $2 one from Amazon.
  24. Radios seems to attract a certain type of person, often with similar personalty defects...
