  1. I thought the choice of Wide vs. Narrow was optional for the 462 interstitials on GMRS. You are saying they must be Wide?
  2. The quickest and easiest solution is to just continue to run Windows in Parallels on an older Intel Mac [remainder of post deleted by Poster]
  3. Not by those who chose to use an adapter to place one of their "conventional" SMA male antennas on to a SMA male radio, thereby increasing the torque and risk of breaking the male pin (or even the whole SMA connector) on the radio.
  4. Baofeng went against the grain with the UV-5R. The "correct" way to use the SMA is with the male on the antenna and the female on the radio, so that if and when the "male" pin breaks off, you only have to replace the antenna and not the radio.
  5. Welcome! According to this YouTube video, it requires a firmware update. So you are back to finding someone with a Windows computer to help you.
  6. Radioddity CPS software only works in Windows and not on a Mac unless you are using Windows in emulation on that Mac.
  7. Where did you buy it? Maybe the seller has a "cheat-sheet" for such features.
  8. Yes, Last time I checked, I don't own this repeater! ?
  9. It looks to me that he screenshot his request to use those two repeaters; not trying to be an owner/originator; and he's looking for advice on how to set his Wouxun KG-935G and Baofeng UV-5G to be able to communicate through them.
  10. I had to give up my Ham Vanity plates just to keep all the "chicks" away!! ?
  11. Time to send the Jeep back for replacement! ?
  12. Yes: I also had success with the local 650 Repeater when I used them outside. Inside, I could "hit" the repeater, but the report back was that I was all noise.
  13. Nicely done! You probably want to keep the Power Setting on LOW for Channels 8-14.
  14. Wrong file. That is probably the CPS software for your BF-T11. You want to look at a code plug (XML); maybe you have not downloaded it from your HT yet. Try this one: BF-T11 09092250 Mod.xml
  15. I can’t wait to hear the answer to this one!
  16. Look back to my screenshots posted on September 10th for Channel 19. The Hex Editor shows both the Receive frequency and the Transmit frequency which I modified by uping it 5 MHz. Then you can see the change in the CPS software - both shown in a red box.
  17. Yes, @KAF6045's comment to me was in response to my comment to @wrtq652's comment about the Radioddity DB-20G (a palm sized mini-mobile), which does cover both VHF and UHF.
  18. Please post a link if you find it!
  19. That is correct for license free MURS usage. Actually I personally have no need for MURS, at the current time. I have it programmed into my scan with full power (20 watts) capability in the unlikely event I monitor an emergency situation, so that I can communicate with the best possible reception on both ends.
  20. Many here like the Radioddity GM-30. I purchased its clone, the Pofung P15UV on Amazon and had good experiences with it. I ultimately gave it to my grandson after I purchased the clone TYT-UV88 Ham Radio which can be opened to allow GMRS as well.
  21. Take a look at these items in the Code Plug Hex file (through Hex Fiend) for channels 7 & 8 and 14 & 15, where it goes from High power, to Low and then Low to High: It goes from 1 1 1 0 to 0 0 1 0; so perhaps one or both of those leading 1's are part of the HIGH power designation. Oh, but wait, the Programming Software for the T11 already has the HIGH setting for all channels except for 8-14, which are LOW (see my screenshots posted on September 10th). So maybe some other designator is needed to provide SUPER-HIGH power.
  22. Try this: Hex Fiend It is still offering me an updated version.
  23. @wrtq652 The DB20-G can be easily "opened" up so that you can use ALL 500 channels to receive and transmit on GMRS. Technically it probably does not continue to comply with Part 95 rules, but many of us use it in this opened mode. If you continue to use it exclusively for Tx on GMRS; I do not see the problem. We open it up to use it on the Ham bands 2 meters and 70 cms and even MURS. @NC654Which Hex program are you currently using? 4.82 watts would surely make these HTs more usable especially to repeaters!
