  1. Which are now banned in Florida! ?
  2. If Channels 31+ are opened to additional GMRS Simplex and Repeater channels, but with different Tones, why does that break compliance? That is exactly what Radioddity did with its updated Firmware for its GM-30; I think it was Channels 31-55 for more Repeaters..
  3. In CHIRP, just under Memories in the upper left hand corner, see if there is a Settings Mode and within that, an Advanced Settings and if, when clicked, there is an option to change the ID line from Wouxun KG-935G to WRVE426. Otherwise you might have to use the Wouxun software for those types of settings.
  4. I have 3 variants of the UV-5R and I have never had the UV-5G, but see if this video helps you: Baofeng UV-5X / UV-5G HACKED !! - How to frequency MOD A Baofeng GMRS Radio
  5. So I downloaded the Kenwood CPS software, but it wants me to read a codeplug off the radio. If you send me a codeplug, I can read it into the software and go from there:
  6. Do you mean does another user of the Kenwood TK-880 here on myGMRS have a preprogrammed code plug to share with you? What does fpu mean? I did post a codeplug for my favorite mobile, the Radioddity DB20-G a/k/a Anytone AT-779UV on my local PAPA Systems Ham Radio club website, with an alternate that does just that for those interested in both Ham Radio 2 meters and 70 cms and GMRS. So perhaps another TK-880 user will pop up here, too! And yes, CHIRP is handy in having those links to easily download specific groups of frequencies and I am still waiting for them to update to the DB20-G as well.
  7. Which HF frequency?
  8. I do not have any experience with the kg-905g, but I do have the Pofung P15UV, which is a clone of the Radioddity GM-30 and the Baofeng GM15-Pro. And previously I used my USB cable to program a Wouxun HT tribander, before I purchased the Baofeng UV5Rx3 tribander and sold off the Wouxun; so the cable works with both of my radios. Have you tried rebooting your computer? Does a different COM port become active instead of COM 3? Nice Christmas present to find under your tree!
  9. at R&L Electronics But again, there are newer, better options.
  10. In that case it is probably ok for 20 Watts. Consider future-proofing if you have not purchased it yet (or can return it for a full refund). For example I purchased my power supply (JETSTREAM JTPS32MAB 30 amp now priced at around $90) some years ago to power my Yeas FT-857d and now I can run that on the direct wiring and at the same time run my Radioddity DB20-G through the cigarette lighter plug connected to the Anderson Powerpoles. I am sure there are better newer options, too:
  11. Did you get in to any of your local repeaters? Is there an "old" Smyrna Beach? ?
  12. Will you connect by cigarette lighter plug or direct wiring? Will you connect anything else? Looks like it says only 4.5 amps on the direct wiring; is this it:
  13. Oh, I found a Contact Us link on the site and I have asked them the price of the mod.
  14. I do not see the MARS-mod option at the Better Safe Radio site you link as "solid buy;" am I missing it?
  15. You're thinking trademark. Like the dog in my Profile Logo below my screenname (although technically it is a service mark - (SM) in that example)...
  16. Transmit = Tone = Output of 935 (Input of repeater) Receive = ToneSql = Input of 935 (output of repeater) For CTCSS send me Venmo and I’ll renew your question quota! ?
  17. And I am holding you to your promise! ?
  18. They are spoofing Apple's claims of "designed in America!" However, in Apple's case; it is true!
  19. No apology necessary: just realize that when you post a "hypothetical" question for which we have no control over the final answer, you will get "31 flavors" of answers. ?
  20. At least the ARRL continues its history of representing Ham Radio's best interests in Congress.
  21. Let me post a wise man's quote for your answer:
  22. You misunderstood my post. I quoted @Adamdajand asked him a question: The question was not directed to you! Also, if you had clicked the underlined link ("the same guy"), it would have taken you back to the other thread where @Adamdaj is promoting dual use of the KG-1000M for both MURS and GMRS.
  23. You mean the Anytone AT-779UV or Retevis Ra-25; the 778 is a completely different radio.
