  1. I hear a lot of farm irrigators systems on MURS 5 in my area.
  2. I have use this site with really some good accuracy. You put in your location, antenna height, for the base state, and then use a height of four foot to check your range.
  3. What is your budget to work with?
  4. I don't know how good this is, however you might want to check this indoor antenna out.
  5. @ TonyAldo Here is the antenna I use, I got the magnet base on it. Comet FC-54NMO
  6. You could do like I do as well. When I'm in my car I hook my Handheld up to a mobile antenna, at least until you find a good mobile radio that you like.
  7. Obviously, the current rules and interpretations prohibit crossband mobile repeater at this time as the rules are currently written. However, a low power (1 to 2 watt) crossband mobile repeater channel would be an interesting ideal to petition the FCC for. I think/assume if we ask Rich or the staff here at GMRS they could provide some guidance, assistance in drafting a formal petition, as well as suggest the best verbiage needed to give the petition the best chance of getting the current rules changed to allow a low power crossband mobile repeater in the GMRS.
  8. This is about as close as your going to get in the rules. §95.347 Automatic control.
  9. Some of the scanner I had. Yes back late 70s early 80s even had a 8 track scanner.
  10. Here is some of the radios, MDT I had in my squad car back in my LEO days. BTW this was one first MDT placed in to service in the US.
  11. I have used this Antenna from here with a lot of success. http://www.dpdproductions.com/page_gmrs.html#gmrsvert
