WRQC301 Posted January 21, 2023 Report Posted January 21, 2023 Do operators keep a common log of contacts?? Is there a common log book used?? I have tried to keep a log of contacts that I have made. But wish I had software that would keep contacts somewhat organised. Any and all help is much appreciated. Thank you, Dennis WRQC301 Quote
0 BoxCar Posted January 21, 2023 Report Posted January 21, 2023 There are several computer-based radio log book programs however, they are all targeted to hams. Quote
0 marcspaz Posted January 22, 2023 Report Posted January 22, 2023 With GMRS generally being a "bring your own contacts" type of service, I doubt there is anything geared directly towards it. However, I would assume you can simply use a traditional logbook or use an application from the amateur service, such as N3JFP, and just log it as any band you want. 70cm/UHF would be the closest option. 0 WRCZ387 Posted January 22, 2023 Report Posted January 22, 2023 I found this online https://www.businessformtemplate.com/preview/Amateur_Radio_Station_Log It's available in .doc format Any word processor that reads & writes .doc files will let you edit the file to your needs &/or wants Or you can just design your own using tables in a word processor [that's what I did] The fields that I have are: name - call sign - QTH - repeater [that I spoke with them on] - notes Or a spreadsheet will probably work also Whatever works best &/or easiest is up to the user, you can always change it or update it later on 73 Quote
