This is a really good deal for a radio that’s small enough for a go-bag. $85 with a magnetic mount, but be sure you get a whip with a pl-259 because the mount is an so-239 (thanks to Fe2O3 for the catch!):

Most of the magnet mount antennas come with RG-58 coax at best.   That's not great for GMRS.  BuyTwoWayRadios has a Melowave NMO antenna mount with better quality cable.  I got one but haven't done testing.

IMO, it is important to point out that the RG-58 coax that comes with most magnet mount antennas, while not "the best" you can buy, is more than plenty 'good enough' for average, normal, GMRS users.

Plus most magnet mount coax cables average 1-12 foot in length. So there won't be a lot of loss in that length versus 50 or 100 foot of coax used for most base unit installations.
