Godzilla X Kong and Baofeng.

Did anyone else notice the Baofeng radios used in "Godzilla X Kong". Seems like a high tech operation would use something a bit Higher End than a $20 Baofeng radio for their operations.

They are obviously very fiscally responsible and realized that the Baofeng does everything they need at an excellent price-point and it would be foolish to spend more money for something with less capabilities..

Or they were just making a movie and needed a cheap radio to use as a prop.

I brought this up in a ham meeting to a guy that is very anti-Baofeng. I said "you got to get one now!" He just stared at me in silence like I had two heads.

Isn't the movie film/made in the Baofeng homeland and the movie production crew are Baofeng homeland homies?

Filmed in Hawaii, Morocco, and Australia, so no.

And the three studios involved were American, American, and Australian.

He actually has a relatively small number of screen minutes, I hear. Maybe I’ll have to watch it.

The number of people who would know a $20 radio from a $2,000 radio on a TV or movie screen is statistically minuscule. Practically equivalent to zero. They went with something that looked right and was cheap.

Ok, i gotta ask... Whats wrong with Baofengs anyway, If they are good enough for Godzilla, they get my vote lol
