  1. So it is spoken, so shall it be done.
  2. This is the way I do it on both GMRS and ham. I give it in plain old alphabet first and if the other party doesn't understand then I give it again with the NATO phonetic alphabet. However, when someone uses the NATO exclusively, it doesn't bother me a bit.
  3. LoL, exactly. Just like the panda and the hippo.
  4. Very good explanations in this thread. Ground because lightning. Bond because potential.
  5. Dogs like us struggle with keyboards. I'm trying to get into CW. Strait key obviously. Paddles are out of the question.
  6. Yeah, that's weird. First time I've seen that happen.
  7. @RogerSpendlove I found replacement clips for the GM-15 Pro but they didn't come with screws. Went back and forth with the seller about the screws. It sounded like they didn't understand me. Of course that could have been intentional.
  8. That is just sad. I guess that is where Randy came up with the term "sad ham." I have been very fortunate that I have not had such experiences. All the hams I associate with are very good people. And many of them are dual licensed.
  9. That 778 is the one I have. Nice radio for the price. It can transmit on 2m, 70cm, and GMRS if you pick the right band range. Yes, I know, I'm slapping my own hand for saying it.
  10. Did I miss something? Where does FRS come into this? The MP31 is a GMRS radio.
  11. How close are they to each other. You might be experiencing desense. Make sure you separate the two radios by about 50 ft or so and try again.
  12. Yep, there are other brands that are way more expensive.
  13. CW is a mode. Morse Code is the most common code use with CW.
