I believe the answers you have received to date have confused the concept of: 1) What is the topic of the Net? with... 2) What Service/Band/Frequency is the Net located so that I can attempt to tune them in? MURS does not allow for Repeaters on that service, so my guess it is a Net that is conducted on GMRS for the benefit of those GMRS'ers who also MURS! Reminds me of a story I used to tell to young Interns back in the 90s who worked at my wife's Production Company that needed to learn how to operate the company's Macintosh computers when the predominant computers were PC/Windows: My Wife came back from Italy with a VHS tape of an Italian motion picture that she wanted to remake in the USA. Unfortunately it was encoded in the European PAL system of video and our VHS VCRs used the US NTSC system. I took the tape to a location production services company and had them copy it over to a VHS NTSC tape. When my wife inserted the VHS NTSC tape into our VCR started to watch it, she exclaimed: "But it is still in Italian!"

Somewhere on the Forum somebody posted a Template in Python that he claimed would allow you to merge a CSV file into the Radioddity DB20-G software so as to make programming somewhat akin to CHIRP! I downloaded the Python template, but I have reached the point of my life where I do not like to research something that I will only do once. SO: not knowing how to program Python, I am a bit reticent to study up all the time it would take to learn to run Python on either my Mac or in Windows.

Did Midland ever fix those units to be able to run WideBand FM instead of the default Narrow Band?

I may have said this before, but I added to my Radioddity DB20-G and Anytone AT-779UV; a Radioddity DB25-D. In effect this is a DMR version of these radios with the same analog capabilities with the addition of DMR worldwide capability for a reasonable price ($180-$210)

I purchased the Ham Radio version, the UV-13Pro for $20 from AliExpress and discovered it openly transmits on GMRS and MURS in addition to Ham 2 meters and 440MHz. Has its own programming software. I retired my similar TYT-88UV

You fotgot the most important PRO: $99-$109! I bought a second one for use in my home with a rooftop antenna and irrespective of what output a wattmeter may claim; my range simplex and to distant repeaters far surpasses my expectations There is a large user base of the Radioddity DB20-G a/k/a Anytone AT-779UV on this Forum.

I have found my Radioddity DB20-G in my home with my 2nd story rooftop antenna gets amazing range simplex and on repeaters that are just too far for me to hit with an HT. It is a mini-mobile, 20 watts (18 UHF), 500 channels, cigarette lighter plug into my AC to 12v power supply, many controls on the handheld mic and for the Hams in the audience, easily opens to 2 meters/440 MHz. It is also sold as the Anytone AT-779UV $99-$109; and I put a 2nd one in my car!

Is that the Cotre model with the LED screen? I got the low end version for $14 before they disappeared from the face of the Earth, and I would love to find the LED version. And yes, my FTDI cable works with the Cotre too.

Another analogy to traffic laws... Last time I checked, no one was injured when they transmitted on GMRS without a license or in contravention of Part 95 rules! Find a more relevant analogy...

Yes, I purchased a FTDI chip USB to K1 cable from Amazon back in 2016 when I first started working with Baofengs and the FTDI chip is easily supported by updated driver software for all operating systems! I even build a DIY adapter that I found on Miklor that allows it to work with the Radioddity DB20-G and Anytone AT-779UV mini-mobile RJ-45 style radios!

I am just the "reporter" delivering the news that if you (and your minions) insult Hams, you shouldn't be surprised when they go to the FCC and do not support Repeater Interlinking for GMRS. That being said, you seem to want to punish me, the reporter, for delivering that news and that "style" of discourse does not lead to a very positive climate for continued interchange of ideas. So, no, I won't be clarifying this issue for you, because it is clear you goal is not clarification. Last time I checked, I never asked you any questions in this thread. Really, so you are validating all of the "sad Ham" comments online by your minions? Because it has spread quite far on the internet in other venues than just on your YT channel and here on myGMRS and that is the "propaganda" I am referring to.

Many of these complaints may have come from Hams who have been insulted by the recent "Sad Ham" propaganda! Just a thought...

Generally speaking, the recently released "Ham Radios" by CCR manufacturers are locked out of GMRS, with many exceptions. For example, I purchased the Baofeng UV-13Pro Ham Radio from AliExpress for $20 and was quite surprised to discover it will transmit on GMRS and MURS. I have retired my TYT-88UV with this newer addition to my collection. Another example, but not as new are the Radioddity DB20-G a/k/a Anytone AT-779UV mini-mobiles: they easily open from GMRS to Ham Radio 2 meters and 440 MHz (in addition to MURS).

While I have the AT-779UV, which is a completely different radio than their AT-778UV, my understanding is that neither radio has an official fan "add-on" available through Anytone. My experience with the 779UV for many years of high duty cycle "yakking" is that, yes, it is very hot to the touch, but their has been no denigration in its service and capabilities.

Just be aware that FRS radios are set to Narrowband FM and most likely your GMRS radios are set to Wideband FM, so the FRS radios will have much diminished audio punch! You could change the settings on your GMRS radios (the FRS radios do not have that option by Rule) and the audio quality for all will be much improved! I liked the Pofung BF-T11s which used to be available on Amazon and eBay for about $25 per pair: 2 watts K-1 jack and even computer programmable. Fulfills all your other needs, too. I see that AliExpress now has them!
