3" EIA, guess there is some broadcast stuff there. not to mention the battery rack

1/4 " is definitely not overkill. most of the stuff I do uses 1/2" superflex, beats using 213/400 cables.

nice termination. not too big a fan of right angel connectors but in a pinch if you have to you have to.

I did a quick check before I pulled the plug. Tx was 1500C high rx was .5uV. I didn't check to see how far off the Rx was though. was set at 50W but it was set like that for yrs, was rated for 90W. we almost always set them to 1/2 power. I'm probably the only one still left in the shop that know the little idiosyncrasies of this particular brand of machine.

1/2" has a 1.5 dB loss and 1 1/4 " is .6, big difference at 150' ~2.25 vs ~.9db loss. nice change

6U Tripplite case, nice. used one for a customer wall mounted w/XBR8400 ,small celwave duplexer and 35AHr battery. little tight but it worked.

Frank, she is nice to look at from that angle but not when she's buzzing you head while working. OD, I'm still in the testing phase doing some signal strength readings. there will be an antenna change as an experiment coming very soon. it should be interesting or not yield any real difference. I'm actually hoping it shows a difference.

here a re a couple of pics of a relic I took out last week. this was put in service in 1983 and has a date code of 1981. that is the firmware version you are looking for kenwood KPG 49d programming software. make sure you get the windows version. I have version 4.02 these radios are not programmable through the front panel

going to an LTR controller let them try to figure that out. I'm done

I would rather not get into it, but I have had to shut off my machines of late. it gets rather annoying.

I have been having some interlopers play w/both of my machines of late. let me be very clear! I have the equipment and the people to find you and when I do it wont be pretty. this is not a threat its a promise. I have had enough this BS going on on the radio. it is not the 70's and this is not CB. there is significant time, money and effort that goes into putting up a "system" and I will not put up w/this BS.
