  1. Are your tones to that repeater programmed if not you will hit the repeater, but no audio will be heard
  2. seems like it doesn't it!!
  3. If you can't give a proper answer, then don't answer the question. I notice these kinds of comments are mostly directed to the new users. Joke or not new users don't think these comments are funny, and I agree with them.
  4. That's the intention here I just wanted to get other members input on this radio before I make the decision to get one. Thanks for your input
  5. The price and the power output is the reason I may get one however I have seen reviews that power doesn't make the radio
  6. I'm from Roseville CA
  7. It's curious that another station with a callsign close to mine I'm WRCC 719 but just the same Welcome
  8. I'm not understanding why the different rating about this radio some tell me is ok to use and others says differently what do you guys think of this radio?
  9. It sounds like that every night here, and the crazy thing is that I live in a residential area
  10. You consider yourself lucky
  11. You might want to check if the repeater is using split tones that also may be your problem need to check with the owner if the repeater is programmed that way I have the original Midland MXT 400 which is narrowband I have no issue with Tx the only I need to open the squelch to receive
  12. Already done!! Looking forward to the results later tonight
  13. So far, it's quiet here (only 9:20 am here) but wait until tonight regardless of where you live you will bound to have issue that goes along with elections of any kind, I remember 2020 very well. Cars screeching up and down the block and also idiots firing off their guns and all that it was until the following morning before everything calmed down.
  14. I agree the purpose of this forum is to assist new user and give him/her advice on how to operate their radio the proper way not to shoot down their request for help
  15. You can but I would use unit designations like unit 1 or 2 to minimize any confusion to whoever you're talking to. And to your second question the answer is yes
  16. Hi, I know this is an old thread but I'm just wondering what time of day you are attempting to make contact just wondering.
  17. Well, it depends what time of the day you're trying to make contact. For us here in California during the day people do have regular work to go to and some they are on the HAM side of things. Most traffic occurs during early evenings and the nighttime. Anyone want to add anything further please do so.
  18. Oh yes, I learned from experience never argue or say anything negative about the repeater you never know that the repeater owner you're asking permission to you to use his repeater might be monitoring the forum.
  19. Not all repeaters are listed. Elco1 or LA1 are the name of the repeaters
  20. Wow, I didn't realize that my comment sparks a grammar war now too (lol)
  21. Again, I ask. if you need permission to use a listed open repeater why not list it as a permission only repeater? To me that would have been better and that's what I would've done.
  22. If that's the case don't list it as open repeater list it as permission only that will solve the issue wouldn't it!!!
  23. If it was free access, I wouldn't have to ask permission for access. Am I right or wrong?
  24. I guess I learned the hard way not ever to argue with anyone actually owner or not
  25. Wouldn't you think if you need permission to use the repeater why don't you list it as permission only instead of open?
