  1. Yes 451 MHz here locally is used by local television stations and also their news helicopters However this signal I'm receiving is defiantly on the 462MHz side.
  2. I'm sure this question has been asked, but is it legal to broadcast Television programs on FRS? I thought it's illegal on all band correct me if I'm wrong. Every morning I scan all band as a hobby of mine when it came on the 462mhz the scan stops on FRS7(462.7125) and I pick up a faint but readable signal. Not regular transmission but like a program of some sort being broadcasted. What my question is it legal? Thanks in advance. Hopefully I posted this on the right location if not feel free to move it.
  3. you can keep your callsign, but all correspondence will be sent to your new mailing address
  4. In my opinion the FCC won't do anything unless it interferes with a life and death situation.
  5. Wow I want to know what radio you have that you can talk to the Bahamas!!! (lol)
  6. That's what's going on here in the Nothern California area right now. Once you let them on you will never get a word in, they (DMR USERS) will take over the band and render all analog radios useless.
  7. They are here to learn just give them information's that they need to get started, and start them on their way
  8. My question is why so much power just to send data? I am aware that they're outdoors in a rural area.
  9. Why didn't I hear anything about this until now?? and this supposed to have been granted in 2021? To me there's something fishy going on here.
  10. If you do that it makes sense to list your repeater as a "Permission only" Also as to lessen any confusion if you want people to find your tones just post them so there's no confusion. That's just my 2 cents worth.
  11. Here in California, I hear the Urban Search and Rescue units in the county uses CH3 151.940 for their training. It's amazing how they coordinate the units for the exercise.
  12. That wouldn't be a bad idea.
  13. Ok you do that what happens to the other honest people who uses your repeater what about them? You shut them off the repeater use because of a few bad apples who abuses the use of the repeater you wound up losing people to other repeaters in the area. However, after saying that since you're the owner of the repeater you can do whatever you want to your own machine.
  14. When I heard that the FCC was going to let FRS share the frequency with GMRS I wasn't happy with the Idea of channel sharing, but I decided what's done is done until the FCC approved the power change from 1/2 watt to 2 watts. I didn't understand the reasoning for that, and I knew when they did that all heck would break loose and here it is.
  15. That's exactly what I say if you can stay on your own band, it will save a lot of us GMRS user headaches.
  16. It's happening to me also. On GMRS 22 (.725). On Tuesday nights we will have a net here and the unknown station will key up and start interfering with the rollcall. On several occasions the person/persons will dead keys for the duration of the net, and I hear their carrier over the station trying to check in. I got to a point where I actually told the station where I was and when I did the station stopped transmitting. Apparently, the person listening lived near me, I did see some kids with radios in hand was running into a house across the street. Now that I know who's throwing dead carriers I know where to look.
  17. Oh please don't give them any more reasons to change more rules please
  18. What's the difference between the TK880 and the TK8160? I have the 8160 as a base, and I'm happy with it.

GMRS 21? a shared frequency? I don't think they are using FRS I don't normally pick up FRS traffic. But the station was heard while I was talking to someone on the repeater side. And like I said I had my received tone squelch on and I still heard their signal through the repeater.

No callsign heard just conversation between manager and security staff.
  22. Is it legal for businesses to use the simplex side of a GMRS frequency to conduct their business? I hear a lost prevention department from a store using GMRS ch21 (467.700(?))not sure which store it's from e every time when I talk to someone on the repeater side I hear other traffic in there that I know is from simplex because I have another radio monitoring the same frequency but without the tones. And it interferes with the repeater traffic every time when I try to talk to someone I hear another station in there. And I do have my received tones on.
  23. Not all repeater range on mygmrs repeater listing is correct just f y I to all it's up to the repeater owners to list the correct range of their repeaters and not all of them do that. Sent from my Z5156CC using Tapatalk
