Tones benefits all of us. There are so many stations on 1 frequency you will hear every stations on the same frequency without the tones and you talk about interference
We have Costco, Wallmart, Target, Winco Foods here in Roseville and i do hear traffic on 154.570 and 154.600. I once in a while i hear traffic on 151.625 not sure who uses that frequency but i do hear conversations on there. Sent from my SM-T530NU using Tapatalk
Yes you need to be careful things like this website like this can be spoofed by people who wants your info to do bad things. The main thing is your identity. Sent from my SM-T530NU using Tapatalk
Ok so if this is the case my question is are simplex users responsible to check if anyone is using the same frequency on duplex mode? Several times i am chatting with my friends and i seem to hear someone else riding on my friends signal. I asked if someone want to use the repeater no answer and as soon we got back into our conversation it happends again. So i went to simplex mode and sure thing i heard several station chatting on simplex pretty close to me and I told them that there's repeater traffic on the frequency and they were gentlemanly enough to change channels but normally are the simplex users responsiblity to check before they key up? Frequency is 462.700 (No tones due to privicy and owner requset)
@Kevsh Thanks for the information but i am not the repeater owner i am just a user on that repeater, however i don't think this individual was checking to see if the repeater is in use. The reason i say that is because the person keys up while i am in a qso with another station and the station as it was weak into the repeater. Apprently whoever this person is is just trying to get attention but not while a conversation is going on.
This question is just for information only. I think the answer is no due to privacy but i have a individual here locally keeps keying up the repeater but says nothing just trying to find out the legality of recording.
The reason i asked prior to my relocation i live near a cemetary that uses MURS ch5 from the office to the men on the cemetary grounds is that legal for MURS use?
I think it is a good idea that all repeaters(GMRS OR HAM)has that feature in case of any disasters that everyone can be informed and take action as quick as possible.
Just want to verify with everyone here. If a repeater is marked open and when you key up someone on the repeater ask you if you got permission to key up and use the repeater what you do? I asked him to check mygmrs and see that repeater is open but that individual kept insisting that i need permission. SIDE NOTE:I ALSO ASKED FOR HIS GMRS LICENSE # TO SEE IF HE IS LICENSED USER HIMSELF, BUT THAT INDIVIDUAL AVOIDED MY QUESTION ALL TOGETHER
Well we actually can't blame the radio company but to those who have surplus gears they want to get rid off and they use the flea market to do it. The sad part is that they do not explain the proper use of the radio and thats where the problens lie. (JUST NOTICED THIS IS A 5YRS OLD THREAD BUT JUST WANT TO PUT MY TWO CENTS IN) Alberto WRCC719
