I would like to change channel however all traffic I do is on the repeater side and when I try to explain to the simplex user to give me a few minutes to check in then I will leave you alone, but no you do have smart a***s think they own the channel and that's when I get mad.
The thing that I don't like about clubs is that they (Group Leader) make it a point to change things without notifying their members of procedural changes and when they try to log in to the page only to find out they have to request for membership all over again that's why membership in groups are dropping IMO.
Hi
I have a different issue here. We have simplex station using GMRS22 and here the problem is that we have our CERT net every Tuesday night on 462.725 and during the net on several occasions I thought heard other signal comes in with the operator trying to check in. I found out later that the other signal is coming from a station on the simplex side of the channel, but if you have an emergency and keeps getting interfered with by the simplex station isn't that a violation? Just curious what you guys think and oh by the way the station in question is using illegal power cause when they key up they cover all the stations on the repeater side.
Ok
Here's my thought doesn't nodes connected to GMRS repeaters count as illegal operation also? They're connected to the GMRS network, but it's deemed legal to do so.
I thought once you apply for a license that the licensee's address is on record!!! How can you even ask for privacy? unless you use a po box as your address
I support the right to free speech too, but if they are going to use the radios, they should use them legally. Half of the time they don't even check the if the frequency is in use, they just key up like they own the frequency. There are times when I do hear these conversations on the input side of the repeaters too, and no call signs ever given when they start and finish.
And when you try to tell them that they're using their radios illegally they come back at you with a snark comments. I actually told them I'm going to report them to the FCC and after I said that i never heard them on the channel again. So they actually know what they're doing is illegal
I can understand if this happens once in a while, but it's happening everyday. The thing is that the signal will one day comes in strong and there's day it's weak. (But on 462MHz that's quite far to be receiving anything from 470-490 range)
Yes 451 MHz here locally is used by local television stations and also their news helicopters However this signal I'm receiving is defiantly on the 462MHz side.
I'm sure this question has been asked, but is it legal to broadcast Television programs on FRS? I thought it's illegal on all band correct me if I'm wrong.
Every morning I scan all band as a hobby of mine when it came on the 462mhz the scan stops on FRS7(462.7125) and I pick up a faint but readable signal. Not regular transmission but like a program of some sort being broadcasted. What my question is it legal? Thanks in advance.
Hopefully I posted this on the right location if not feel free to move it.
