i remember some 10 years ago subscribing to Norton Antivirus and having to close my bank account because them suckers kept charging for the service i canceled. Cancelling the card didn't work because Norton pays the banks for some stupid service that allows them to follow a customers account via Visa.
yup, there a thousands of repeaters set up this way, And yes, they are making money, else they would not invest in dozens of repeaters under one license.. More and more get added each week
i don't think there's any 'etiquette' for operating on GMRS.. Get on the the ch your friends and family hangout. Say your call sign if you wish and talk. Now if you hang out in a 'Club' then i guess you'll have to follow their 'etiquette', which is sometimes pretty comical.
I like the stealth approach, perfect for Jeeps ets.. For the price, hard to beat.. I like the Bluetooth programing, wish more radio manufacturers would do this.
Are you that guy that’s always hollering out “Breaker Breaker, Can You Give me a radio check” all the time? You need to lighten up and say something different, You sound like a broken record.
LMR 400-600 will work just fine for distance less than 150', of course if you have some decent height on your antenna. We used Helix on super long runs for our UHF radios at work on antennas at the upper portion of a 300' tower. From 150' down we used 600 and so did everyone else leasing space on the tower from mid point down.
