  1. I remember those days, way back when. . My 70 Chevile played hell with my CB until i put in an electronic ignition
  2. thats good to know... sounds like i picked up mine at the right time. - thanks
  3. O,K. The bag works fairly well, Put both cell phone and my Hytera HT in the bag. Tried calling my cell phone, no ring, straight to voice mail. So i'm assuming the cell phone is protected. The HT???,, Within a few feet of the bag i can break the squelch with another radio, 20-30 feet away, no go. My guess, the bag is supressing 50-60 dB of signal. Would be interesitng to take the bag with cell phone in close proximity of a cell tower to see what it does.. Maybe someday, but right now, gonna go grab some breakfast.
  4. I havent bought one for two years, the half dozen or so i purchased prior shipped unlocked which i thought was the norm.. Are they shipping these locked now? If they are, can you un-lock as easy as some of their other radios?
  5. if you are wanting to 'un-lock' a UV-5G you actually need a UV-5R
  6. now you got me thinking.. Tomorrow i'll break one out stick my HT in one and see if i can talk with it from an other radio..
  7. i have some from Nest that claims to be military grade. Big enough to hold a HT with antenna. These are more designed for EMT protection with i would think would work against cell phone detection.
  8. i would defiantly go with a military grade faraday bag. Ebay & Amazon would be the last place i would go to buy one,,
  9. our stick your phone in a Faraday Bag
  10. i had similar experience with a cowel mounted Midland antenna on my JK, which i dearly miss
  11. i wonder how many of them actually get busted via their own on line posted videos. Funny as hell
  12. Apparently,, many 'smart' people in these riots committing crimes are being busted by their own phones Investigators are using StingRay and online videos to place criminals at a location then using that data to find, through cell records, who they are.. Pretty clever and funny
  13. you do it on your Profile via a togle switch for the weekly updatss
  14. No, I’m actually 130 miles north but I frequent the area 2-3 times a month. Been planning to stay away until it’s all clear.
  15. Yea, the riot activity is almost over thank God. The first 4 days were hell.
  16. go back an read my orginal question. in the meant time.. i'm ignoring your crazy azz
  17. it doesent stop them from sharing collective information with other agencies like the FBI and DOJ.. I have noticed that LAPD and LA County Sheriff did a 180 take for whatever reason on enformcing the riots. They are actually arresting people like crazy right now.. More than likely becasue the cheif was getting heat for not standing up for hois men and women.
  18. WTF are you talking about?? do we have another SOCAL on our hands
  19. that $hit started longer than i thought
  20. there was chatter on HAM the other day that they heard some rioters using GMRS frequencies. I was just listening, i didn't get into a conversation with them
  21. They told us at the voter fraud conference that turning phone off protects against SingRay detection.. Googling this topic confirms that StingRay can't detect a pone f in Airplane mode or if phone is off. But it does mention there are malware apps if installed on a phone that can control a phone to make it 'look' like the phone is either off or in airplane mode. I don't think this tactic would pass the sniff test if cops deployed this.
  22. The StingRays used today can zero onto someone and track them within inches.. Cops can use StingRays to also identify the activity around crime areas, i.e. a guy throwing rocks and bricks at law enforcement cruisers. How did they do this.. video surveillance (either private or public) provides a location, time, date, the crime and even video footage, in this case a masked person. Police match video evidence to that what StingRay provides , a date, time and exact coordinates of person committing a crime. Further investigation reveials who owns the phone creating all this criminal activity. Bingo,, Now the cops have somone they suspect and want to talk to.. Now this is a scenaro played out on X how they found the guy..
  23. i think it is safe to say that most people know to turn your phone off when attending anything political and defiantly a riot. I've known this for a least 3 years now and i did when i attended a confrence on voter fraud in Utah in 2023.
