That usually shuts down the conversation. And also there is the fact that dogs are shit producers. TrikeRadio and SteveShannon 2 Quote
TrikeRadio Posted May 9 Report Posted May 9 You for sure married the right woman. My wife is kinda intrigued by my funny radio "fad", although she does not really "get it" and probably would never pick a radio up and talk into it... but she laughs at some of the funny conversations on our local repeaters. And she still loves me anyway. Quote
AdmiralCochrane Posted May 12 Report Posted May 12 My wife tolerates my radios and ham activity because her favorite uncle was a ham. Computer stuff and tools, any tools, on the other hand, are her favorite things in the world including stuff we aren't allowed to talk about here. I spend money on that stuff and she is happy. LeoG Posted yesterday at 12:44 AM Author Report Posted yesterday at 12:44 AM Well so far she likes the new radio. Only complaint is that she has to learn some things all over again because the buttons are different. Quote
Jaay Posted yesterday at 06:09 AM Report Posted yesterday at 06:09 AM I had to Hide my radios, when I was married ! Wife: Is that a New radio ? Me: No dear, I've had it since the pony express days ... Quote
Reloader762 Posted 21 hours ago Report Posted 21 hours ago I work, pay the bills and do thing around the house when needed to help the wife out as she is disabled and can't work. I also prepare as much as possible for any unforeseen man made or natural disaster when basis essentials could be in short supply. My wife has never once given me a grief about any of my hobbies. She doesn't participate in some of them, but she does enjoy the radios and listening to the locals talk about things going on in the area and on my SDR receivers here in the states and overseas. No BS to put up with. In Nov this year it will be 50 years! Best decision-making in my life was to get married to a smart lady! She enjoys me as much as I do her! And we enjoy our hobbies and lifestyles together. Marriage was a lifetime agreemant we both looked forward to and have enjoyed... Quote

Yes, she like to listen to the "gossip" as my wife does. The chatter on the local repeater has waned some and she has noticed. Quote

It works for many people, just didn't work out for me. Oh well, that's life. Now at my age I don't think I really want to get married again anyway. Once you get use to the peace and quite, no more daily drama, that's hard to give up. WRTC928 1 Quote

nokones Posted 15 hours ago Report Posted 15 hours ago I am fortunate that my wife doesn't complain, at least about the toys and tools (radios). She complains about the usual subjects that wives normally complain about. Quote

Why does your phone have a password, are you keeping things from me? Who is Sarah, and why does she keep leaving you messages? Blaise 1 Quote
