SteveShannon Posted January 12, 2023 Report Posted January 12, 2023 Today I’m unable to give any posts a like or a thanks. I see a message saying that I cannot add any more reactions today, but I haven’t added any today, at least in my time zone. So I am curious. How many reactions am I allowed daily? How does that quota work, is it a sliding 24 hour window, a finite limit per calendar day, or what? When does it reset? Do premium members have a higher limit or possibly even no limit? Why is there a limit? Thanks! Steve WRUU653 1 Quote
gortex2 Posted January 12, 2023 Report Posted January 12, 2023 Ive wondered the same over the years. Hopefully Rich can clarify. WRUS537 1 Quote
WRUU653 Posted January 12, 2023 Report Posted January 12, 2023 Okay I got to jump in here as I just tried to give a “like” on another thread after leaving a thanks here for Steve and nope! Ionically I’m over my limit for the day! kmcdonaugh, WRUS537 and SteveShannon 1 2 Quote
SteveShannon Posted January 12, 2023 Author Report Posted January 12, 2023 Yeah, maybe it’s broken today. I don’t think you or I are troublemakers who deserve repression! WRUU653 1 Quote

I try not to be. I have also noticed that emojis in the text are no longer showing up. I had originaly typed some in but they seem to all be blue question marks now so I edited them out. I noticed this in other peoples post as well. I'm on a Mac. is this happening for others as well? Quote

I’m using an iPad and yes, emojis are not appearing in posts. More evidence to suggest that something ist kaput. H8SPVMT 1 Quote
brasda91 Posted Thursday at 05:25 PM Report Posted Thursday at 05:25 PM I just got this notification today. I figured it was a limitation of the free members until I found this thread. Kinda weird having a limit on being able to "like" comments well emojis still work Quote

They also are allowed to post in the classified ads and delete their own posts. WRXB215 and WRUU653 2 Quote

I've been debating the Premium route just to avoid the adverts, . I did find that Premium could post in the classifieds; that's where I would've posted my batteries. Guess I'm going to have to man up and level up, lol SteveShannon 1 Quote

I don't know that I'll be creating any clubs; well now that I think about it, maybe I will for our area. I've looked around the website and we don't have clubs close to our geographical area. I'll have to look into these download extracts. I don't know what they are. Quote

If you know you’re going to travel through another state you could download a file of all of the repeaters for that state and load them into Chirp to program your radio. WRUU653 1 Quote

Ok, Ok, now you're talking my language. I sat here on the computer looking at the map, tracking down repeaters between my home and my Army reunion, and then manually entering them into my software. But I see that you mentioned Chirp. I'm running Wouxun (Ocean) HT's and they use their own software. I have an AnyTone mobile that is Chirp compliant but it's not GMRS compliant Quote

I have an AnyTone mobile that is Chirp compliant but it's not GMRS compliant That Anytone (assuming it’s a 578 or 878) uses software that also allows importing external csv files, and in fact it supports “Roaming Zones” which allow the radio to automatically find the closest repeater based on its internal gps. And it can be very easily opened up to GMRS (I have the Alinco MD5XT which is basically an Alinco 878. I also think the Wouxun radios can be programmed using RT Systems software, which can also import csv or tab files. WRUU653 1 Quote
WRYZ926 Posted Friday at 04:54 AM Report Posted Friday at 04:54 AM RT Systems has software for most, but not all, of the Wouxun radios. I know some do not like to pay for programming software but the $35 cost of the RT Systems is reasonable and is veery easy to use. SteveShannon 1 Quote
