0 OffRoaderX Posted November 15, 2023 Report Posted November 15, 2023 Generally speaking, in GMRS we dont use "tuners" .. What most of us do is use an SWR meter to cut/tune our antenna to the correct length OR, purchase a "GMRS" antenna which requires no tuning/cutting. SteveShannon 1 Quote

GMRS frequencies are very limited and mostly close together and GMRS antennas tend to have wide ranges of low SWR.. As such there’s really no need for a tuner. Tuners are great when antennas must be used across multiple bands, as they frequently are in HF ham radio, but as Randy said, just cut the antenna to the right length according to directions or buy one that is pretuned. That’s true also for most uhf ham radio antennas. WRUU653 and AdmiralCochrane 1 1 Quote
0 BoxCar Posted November 15, 2023 Report Posted November 15, 2023 However, if you do want to tune your antenna, or compare different antennas, use one of these: https://www.amazon.com/AURSINC-NanoVNA-H-Vector-Network-Analyzer/dp/B07Z5VY7B6/ref=sr_1_3?crid=1R9O27XQ4SNH6&keywords=vna&qid=1700049596&sprefix=vna%2Caps%2C215&sr=8-3&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.18ed3cb5-28d5-4975-8bc7-93deae8f9840&th=1 AdmiralCochrane, SteveShannon and WRUU653 3 Quote
