Wouxon KG-1000G Configurable Buttons

Question

Posted

I know I’m going to feel stupid when I hear the answer, but here goes. How do you program the configurable buttons on the Wouxon KG-1000G plus?  The A, B, C, D buttons.  I have read the manual, tried pressing them in different ways and googled the shit out of this and can’t find an answer. Thanks.

Start on page 82 of the manual.

Thanks Steve completely missed that.

Sometimes things are called by different names and it’s easy to miss them. These were called “Side buttons” in the table of contents.

The Wouxun software is pretty good and easy to use as long as you are running Windows. I have two Wouxun cables, one for their mobile radios with a RJ45 connector and one K1 for their hand held radios. I use the Wouxun software that you can download for free from Buy Two way Radios.

I haven't whipped-out my KG-1000G software in a a long time, but IIRC, you cannot program the buttons via the software, only directly on the radio..

But, if i'm wrong I will defer to anyone correctly stating otherwise.

For what it is worth, RT Systems software allows you to program the buttons. I am using the KG-1000G Plus so I suspect their software would do the same for the non plus model. Also, looking at the Wouxun software for the KG-1000G+, it does not have settings for the buttons, so you do have to do it on the radio. I am guessing the same for the non plus version.

The Wouxun KG1000G Plus CPS will program the Side (top A B C D) buttons. I'm not sure if that is the case with the non-Plus radio.

The KG1000G Plus CPS works for both versions of the radio.

Where in the programming software is the ability to program the buttons? I am looking and do not see it in the Wouxun software.

I was wrong and corrected my earlier post. I was thinking off the KG935G and KG-Q10H software. The KG-1000G/G Plus software does not allow one to change the A-D buttons. That can be easily done through the radio itself.

For what its worth, another data point depending on your situation.   I use the programming cable, interface to a MAC using chirp.  The buttons are programmed under the config section.   See a screen shot below.  Hope this helps.  All info is good info...   regards

Anyone ever try using a Windows emulator on iOS or Chrome to run the radio software?

Did you try the cps?   Might only be able to configure them on a computer
