There are nine repeater channels. How do you program them?

I have repeaters programmed in by switching to frequency mode, entering frequency, going to menu and entering ctcss codes, then saving to an unused channel. But how do I set up the actual repeater channels manually?

In a GMRS radio, just choose one of the pre-programmed repeater channels, 23-30 (there are 8 of them) and set the necessary tone to get into the repeater.

This is an FRS chart, gmrs is higher watts and does not include the repeater channels that the poster was asking about.

Here’s the frequency table in Wikipedia.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Mobile_Radio_Service#Frequency_table

Note that channels 15-22 are used for simplex communications (meaning that transmission and reception is done on the same frequency, taking turns to talk). Channels 15-22 are also used for duplex communications by the repeater.  The repeater receives a transmission on one of the frequencies marked 15R through 22R and simultaneously retransmits it on a frequency that is 5 MHz lower, marked 15-22 (no ‘R’).
