Well I'm having problems programming my local repeaters in and I was looking for someone that has experience with these radios that could look at my data and see where I'm making mistakes.

Post your data here, and i am sure someone will be happy to come along and help.

What problems are you having in programming?  Are you unable to write to the radio?  Does what you have written not work for the repeater? We need detailed information.

I see you’ve tried every possible software. As Randy said, post your configuration file so we can look at it. I recommend posting either the factory software or chirp software file because more of us can examine them compared to the RT Systems file, but you could post all three.

Unlocking the TYT TH-9800 and TH-7800 radios is super simple when using the official TYT programing software. It is only a matter of pressing a key combination on your keyboard and then typing in a password. I seriously doubt that the radio is bricked by unlocking it through the TYT software.

I agree that seeing a config file or even a screen shot will make it easier for us to help the OP.

CHIRP will add the correct offset and I am pretty sure the TYT software does too. It's been a while since I used the TYT software. With RT Systems you have to manually put in the offset and offset frequency yourself. I had to do that when programming my different Icom radios using RT software.

I recently bought the same radio, and I didn't have any trouble programming repeaters. My best guess is that you're entering something incorrectly. As others have said, post a shot of the file and someone can probably help you.

Have you read the manual?

If you purchased the RT systems software, they have video tutorials that make it pretty darn easy, you just have to invest the time and watching them and reading the manual. Sometimes you have to watch the video and read the manual multiple times to get it.

In general when programming; first read from the radio and save that original configuration file (give it a name). Then go line by line in the software, naming each channel, typing in the appropriate frequency, if the offset is not automatically done by your software, you’ll have to add the offset, then you’ll add the tones for the specific repeater. Once you’ve completed all of that, you will write that file to the radio.

As others have said, upload a copy of the file that you have completed and people here might be able to provide more information.

Same here.  I put in about 100 repeater and simplex channels.  A little tedious, but 100% success, but it wasn't my first go around programming a radio.  I've been using mine in my Jeep for about a year and a half, but I've owned the radio longer and even have a junker that only one side works on.

The TYT mobiles are pretty easy to program with software. I have used both CHIRP and the official TYT software. I've been running one TH-7800 in my vehicle for a little over. year now. I had another one setup as my base radio until I upgraded to an Icom IC-2730. The second TH-7800 is now setup for Winlink. I also run a TYT TH-8600 in my SxS. TYT radios aren't the greatest but they do work well.

I bought a TYT TH-9800D Plus back in August to put in my car. It was my first one and I just wanted an inexpensive mobile unit to "get my feet wet" until such time I'd upgrade. Chirp has worked great up until a few weeks ago and now I'm getting these error messages. Same radio, same programming cable, same laptop (Toshiba Dynabook, Windows 11). The only difference, as far as I know, is a newer version of Chirp. But even going back and trying an older version of Chirp, I still get the same message.

This also appears to only be an issue with Chirp as the TYT and RT Systems software works fine.

I just wanted to toss this out there in case anyone else has seen it and found a solution.
