Agreed. It just fit the "I'm gonna look up this person's call sign so I can send them something" thing.

Oh boy, I must really be messed up and beyond any help since I have my Amateur and GMRS licenses. I can't speak for other repeater owners. I do try to answer any and all requests in a timely manner. PS: I'm not crazy, I am perfectly insane, verified even.

Went 100ft... Still a no go. However, after transmitting on Wouxun S88G, both radios picked up Morse code tones (station ID?).

Try leaving DCS empty on the receive side and make sure you keep the transmitting radio some distance away from the receiving radio.

Try 100 feet and report back.

About 75 feet.

I asked this question twice on your other post and still have not received a response, so i'll ask more slowly this time: How ... farrrr.. aparttttt.. areeee.. theee... twooooo radiosssss ..whennnnn youuu are testinggggg themmm?
-
Yes, but the rules, personalities, social-abilities, and cultures of the users are vastly different between services..
-
How far apart are the radios when you are testing?

I removed the Rx tones from both radios (leaving the Tx tones set on both). When I PTT on the Wouxun S88G, I get a second of two of static on both radios, but the message itself is not heard. Nothing seems to happen whent talking on the Baofeng UV9G.

I'm still not getting this notification and I am using the same password I set up my account. This is definitely a browser issue for people that are getting these notifications.
-
You can't (should not be able to) transmit in "frequency mode" on either of those radios, so forget that idea Try removing the receive/RX tones/codes from both radios Get the radios at least 50 feet apart when testing Report back with your results

Sir, this is a GMRS forum. GMRS people and normal people don't know what a QSL is.
-
so it's like a mildly threatening QSL card?

I have been using my radios in simplex mode for about a year now with no issues. I now have reason to use a local repeater that I have been granted access to. To verify it is working I am using two radios ( a Wouxun KGS-88G and a Baofeng UV-9G). These radios are used to talk to each other in simplex mode whenever we are out and about fishing or hiking. I have tried using channel mode (Repeater 16) on both and entering the given DCS . I have also tried Freq mode by entering 462.575 as wll as the DCS code for both Tx and Rx. The 88G seems to transmit as I see the frequency change to 467.575 when I PTT the UV9G will indicate it has an Rx signal when monitoring 467.575 via frequency mode, but I hear nothing (squelched out?). What am I doing wrong?

Should be fine. Is the conduit on a slight grade to drain water? Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk

Pardon me for saying so, but that response seems like it conveys a disproportionate amount of paranoia.

Our Jeep Club, Two Rivers Off Road, is moving to GMRS from CB. We are long time Members and Trail Guides. The current ride is a '06 LJ Rubicon with 4" of lift and 33" Coopers. Glad to finally be able to post.

Placed a Retevis Ma01 2 piece fiberglass on top of aluminum telescopic flag pole..approx 21 ft high. Ran coax down pole to ground into 10 ft of conduit to corner of house then in thru the wall to radio. approx 60 ft of kmr 400 . question is it okay to run that 10 ft underground in conduit ? sealed both ends to prevent surface water from entering pvc pipe.
